The co-ed vocal trio 8Eight have announced that they have disbanded after seven years of activities together.
The trio, consisting of Lee Hyun (이현), Baek Chan (백찬), and Joo Hee (주희), first appeared as a part of the MBC program “Show Survival” and made their debut under Big Hit Entertainment in 2007 and have impressed with their talented vocals and diversity in music.
Their agency Big Hit Entertainment has revealed, “Joo Hee and Baek Chan’s contract expired in September.” and “No further activities have been planned for 8Eight. The expiration of their contract has interrupted their activities. However, their friendship between the three members still remain intact.” Both are reportedly begun their search for a new agency.
On the other hand, Lee Hyun (이현) will be continuing under Big Hit Entertainment, not only is he in the unit duo with 2AM‘s Changmin (the only 2AM member still under Big Hit Entertainment), but the agency has revealed the he is also preparing for a new solo album release in the first half of next year.
