Japanese manga artist Monkey Punch’s popular manga series “Lupin III” will get a new live-action film adaptation next year, reported Japanese media.
Helmed by “Azumi” director Ryuhei Kitamura, “Lupin III” will be filmed in Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The new film adaptation of “Lupin III” will star Japanese actor Shun Oguri as the globe-trotting master thief Lupin III, who steals treasures from around the world.
Japanese actress Meisa Kuroki will play Fujiko Mine, Lupin III’s love interest and competitor, while Asano Tadanobu will play Inspector Koichi Zenigata, who seeks to apprehend the master thief.
Taiwan actor Jerry Yan will reportedly play a supporting role in the film, which is scheduled for release in Japan sometime in the middle of next year.
