Los Angeles – March 10, 2016 – The world’s largest Korean culture convention and music festival celebrates its fifth anniversary this year, and today announced dates and venues for its two U.S. locations in the New York metropolitan area and Los Angeles. This year’s KCON NY will return to The Prudential Center and expand to two days with two concerts on June 24-25. KCON LA will kick off a month later, taking place over three days from July 29-31 at the Staples Center.
This year’s events is set to showcase even more vendors and all-new programming highlighting the rise in popularity of Korean beauty products, Korean food and the world of e-sports, which South Korea is a major producer of the top competitors.
Last year, over 75,000 passionate fans attended KCON USA for unforgettable concerts, celebrity meet and greets, workshops, panels, food, and fashion, touching on every aspect of Korean culture and entertainment. KCON 2015 USA featured three nights of star-studded concerts by the biggest names in Korean music, including Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, Shinhwa, Sistar, GOT7 and more – as well as special guest appearances by acting talent Kim Soo Hyun, Daniel Henney, Son Ho Jun and Lee Ki Hong. Fans were given the opportunity to attend 127 programs including K-beauty makeup tutorials, Korean cooking classes, K-pop dance lessons, and K-drama screenings – and 154 companies ran booths on the convention floor.
