KCON 2016 USA announced today that boy group Seventeen and girl group Mamamoo are the first artists to join the KCON 2016 New York lineup.
The world’s largest Korean culture convention and music festival celebrates its fifth anniversary this year. KCON NY is returning to the Prudential Center and will expand to two nights of concerts running June 24-25. KCON LA kicks off a month later and takes place July 29-31 at the Staples Center and Los Angeles Convention Center.
SEVENTEEN

SEVENTEEN (세븐틴) is a thirteen-member band formed by Pledis Entertainment. The team consists of three units: the hip hop unit (S.coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu, Vernon), the vocal unit (Jeonghan, Joshua, Woozi, DK, Seungkwan), and the performance unit (Jun, Hoshi, THE8, Dino).
SEVENTEEN gained fame on the livestreamed show“17TV,” which was followed by the reality show “Seventeen Project: Debut Big Plan.” SEVENTEEN is the first group in K-Pop history to hold a live debut showcase.
MAMAMOO

MAMAMOO is a girl group composed of four female members: Solar, MoonByul, WheeIn and HwaSa. They debuted in 2014 with the song “Mr. Ambiguous” and that same year, received awards at the SEOUL SUCCESS AWARDS and Gaon Chart’s K-POP AWARDS. In 2015, the band was selected by Billboard as one of the “Top 5 K-Pop Artists to Watch.”
MAMAMOO’s first full-length album “Melting” dropped in February 2016. The band is managed by Rainbow Bridge World.
Ailee
In 2011, Ailee first received recognition during her performance with Wheesung on MBC’s Chuseok special episode of “Singer and Trainee.” Ailee’s stage presence was immediately felt by the audience, who was amazed by her talent given she had not officially debuted yet. Ailee made her debut on February 9, 2012 with her song “Heaven,” earning a positive response from industry insiders for her explosive vocal talent which instantly made the song a big hit.
Ailee attracted explosive interest on KBS’ “Immortal Song” and other singers were deeply moved by her performance from her powerful vocals, high expressiveness and tremendous stage manner. She is beloved by fans regardless of sex or age and is called “opposite girl, Ailee” because of her naïve character showing right after her own charismatic performance.
Her rapid climb to stardom has brought great success including roles in TV commercials, TV programs, and performance proposals. Ailee is recognized as one of the best rookie singer; the future of her music and performances are being watched with keen interest by fans all over the world.
BTS
BTS (also known as Bangtan Boys consists of Rap Monster (랩몬스터), SUGA (슈가), Jin (진), J-hope (제이홉), Jimin (지민), V (뷔), Jung Kook (정국)) debuted in 2013, and has shown remarkable growth and success as the next generation of K-POP boy groups. They’re leading the Korean wave in the music market not only in Korea but also Japan, Asia and all over the world. BTS is an incredibly talented group with high potential given they also compose and write their own songs. They give full-fledged performances and have enormous energy on stage.
