“Worth the wait”, the first single of Shonn’s upcoming 5-piece EP “Solace”, was released on June 25th, 2021 on all digital platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and Youtube Music. Alongside the track, the music video which was filmed in the lush greens of Coney Island Singapore is set to be released on the same day on YouTube.
26-year-old Singaporean doctor, Shaun Tan, looks to make waves in the music industry as he releases his debut single as part of a passion project. He establishes himself as a folk-pop singer-songwriter and goes by the artiste name of Shonn.
Shonn is currently working at the heart of the frontlines in the Emergency Department at NUH. Being part of the healing business, he says that “People need healing not just physically but emotionally, and music is a powerful tool to bring solace to the soul.” Despite the demands of the ongoing pandemic, Shonn makes an effort to set aside time to fulfil his lifelong dream of making music.
About Shonn
Shonn is a folk-pop singer-songwriter born and raised in Singapore. He describes his music style as emotive acoustic-driven melodies. He taught himself to play the guitar and wrote his first song at the age of 15. He has always felt drawn towards songwriting as it is a natural way of expressing his thoughts and emotions. Though he listens to several genres ranging from pop to R&B to EDM, his greatest music influences come from artistes such as Ed Sheeran, James Bay, and Vance Joy.

“Worth the wait” is the first single by Shonn that was released on the 25th of June as part of his upcoming Extended Playlist (EP) “Solace” that will consist of 5 songs, each as expressions of his life experiences, personal struggles, and the ups and downs of romantic relationships. “Worth the wait” in particular is about falling in love with someone whom you feel you’ve waited your whole life for.
