Singapore memestress GIN.GIRL and Dark-pop producer DSML are back with a remix of the 2021 National Day Song “The Road Ahead”.
They reveals, “We loved this year’s NDP song so much we had to remake it in our dark-pop style. Shots were what we had for dinner, hawkers are heroes too!”
Check it out below.
ABOUT GIN.GIRL
GIN.GIRL ain’t no basic b*tch. Part art hoe, part dank memestress, this girl’s a freak in the streets, makeup melting in this heat. Armed with her 5-dollar Taobao wig and inimitable wit, GIN.GIRL keeps it real and queer, like G&T served in an office mug. She was born in 2020, but no pandemic can stop her from writing #nonessential, trashy Internet meme-worthy songs, like CHIMPAN-Z and Puxi Canal.
ABOUT DSML
Singapore-based Dark-pop producer David Siow aka DSML emerged into the scene in May 2020, as a way of expressing his personal trauma in the form of music production. Whilst still fulfilling his duties in award-winning indie-pop band M1LDL1FE, DSML infuses his tracks with his own brand of dark emotions and production choices.
He’s already racked up 350,000 plays in his 12 month career, including collaborations with Malaysian indie-pop band Son of A Policeman, Indonesian indie-anthem rock band lightcraft, as well as Singaporeans GIN.GIRL, Falling Feathers, Jean Seizure, and Goose.
Think of DSML’s as 70% dark chocolate – not for everyone but oh so smooth and velvety.
