Ahead Of Marian Carmel’s Debut Concept Album “to you, to me”
Known for her ethereal vocals which breathe life into the melancholic nature of her songs, Filipina-born and Singapore-based singer-songwriter, Marian Carmel returns with a brand new single titled, ‘Pause + Reset’. Released through Singapore-based independent music label, Where Are the Fruits, this soul burner of a single has been made available on all major digital streaming platforms on the 1st of October.
The single shows a different side of Marian Carmel, swaying away from her usual cheekiness in her music writing and melody, but consistent in her soulful bluesy vein that is very easy listening, amidst emotions that deep dives into the storytelling of the single.
Produced by French producer, Charlie Kurata (Duumu), ‘Pause + Reset’ is an acoustic R&B tune about the frustrations that come with moving on from a relationship. Marian Carmel shares, “I had been trying to write a song about acceptance for the longest time, but I just couldn’t. So I flipped the concept on its head and wrote about not being able to do that instead. After that, ‘Pause + Reset’ happened so quickly; I think that from the moment I let myself feel the frustration, it took away from the writer’s block that I had.”
Marian Carmel’s upcoming debut concept album, ‘to you, to me’, is slated to be released in the upcoming weeks. More details will be shared soon.
