The 5-member K-POP boy group, MCND, made their first stop in Los Angeles for the U.S. leg of the tour. Castle J, BIC, Minjae, Huijun, and Win performed on August 24th at LA venue, The Mayan. Their fanclub, GEM, were there to show their support for the 1st MCND America Tour 2022.
MCND #MOOD
The concert started off with high energy as MCND came center stage and performed their newest track “#MOOD” which energized their fans. They then went on to perform hit tracks such as, “Top Gang”, “Movin'”, “Reason”, and more. While chatting with fans, they mentioned that every time they’re on stage, it feels new. BIC said if he’s going to die anywhere, it will be in LA, so Win responded then he’ll just die today because he’s going to give it his all on stage. The boys stated they’ve been coming to LA since they were trainees but this is their first concert for them in the city of angels so it means a lot to them.
The group did a cover of Post Malone’s “I Like You” during their concert, as well!
Sweet Melody Songs
After their first set, the members went to go change into new outfits. Of course fans still had something to watch as they waited. MCND recorded a fun VCR where the members played a song quiz. Songs like Twice’s “TT” and Teen Top’s “Miss Right” were part of it and the young idols sang along once they guessed the song correctly. We got to see a lot of Minjae’s hyper fun side while Win stole a lot of the spotlight in the back.
Slowing it down with “more sweet melody songs” (as described by MCND) with tracks such as “Back To You” and “Louder”. This gave them a chance to interact more with fans as they performed. In the middle of this, they took a break to let GEM’s see a different side of them. Even though they’re marketed as a hip-hop dance group, they wanted to show off their vocal skills by covering a few of their favorite songs. Member Minjae started this off with a cover of SHINee Jonghyun’s “End Of A Day”; Huijun sang Justin Bieber’s “Monster”; BIC did “What 2 Do” by Crush, Dean, and Jeff Bernat; Win rapped a part of his song, “Car Race”; and Castle J sang EXO’s “Miracles in December”.
MCND then went back to performing their own tracks and threw out signed cards to the audience during “Hey You”.
Dancing King Competition
The second VCR prepared for the third part of the show was a dancing king competition. They danced to 1st generation tracks to 4th generation songs showing us that they know a wide range a K-POP; they definitely excel in girl group dances.
MCND finally performed their debut track “Ice Age” (in new outfits, of course) and from their fans’ reaction, this is what they were waiting for. Also, they had to have the high energy stages such as, “Juice” and “WAT 1” (English version). The South Korean boy group ended their concert in Los Angeles with “Crush” and a video with messages to their fans.
The idol group have a few more stops in the US left so be sure to catch one before it’s too late!
