On November 16th, 2022, The Rose held one of their stops for the tour “Heal Together” at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California. The band started off the concert with their instrumental intro “-” before moving on to “Definition of ugly is” which is off their latest album, Heal.
During their first MENT, the members introduced themselves and even mentioned this was their first time performing in Anaheim. Despite this being their third time touring in the U.S., they normally only perform in Los Angeles for their SoCal stop. Dojoon then proceeded to ask the members where they were which confused the rest of the band until they finally got to “California” which was his introduction to the next song for the set. They also performed fan favorites, “I Don’t Know You”, “Candy”, and “Red” throughout this segment.
Also off of their album Heal, they performed “Childhood”, “Shift”, and more; including “Yes” which features Filipino-Australian singer-songwriter, James Reid. To the surprise of the audience, James Reid came through as a special guest to perform his part! Of course they couldn’t have him only appear for a short time, so for the first time, they performed “Hold On Tight” live for this audience. This is a James Reid track that featured Woosung and was released approximately a month ago. The band mentioned that they’ve never practiced together with James; they were working out the details on the spot but the performance was amazing regardless which had the crowd wondering if they really didn’t practice.
During the Anaheim concert, the members read the signs in the crowd. This is something The Rose often does during tours; even when member Woosung had his solo. Due to this, the amount of signs by fans have increased during their concerts. Woosung did mention that he couldn’t read some of the signs; this may spark larger signs/fonts at upcoming shows.
- “Will trade daughter for signed album” and next to it “will trade mom for signed album”
- “I skipped school for this.” This laughingly received a response from the members and Woosung stated “good job! Or maybe not. Too many parents here. Even my high school teacher is here.”
- Someone in the crowd also asked them to give them a new name. Dojoon asked them for a letter to start with and an adjective so they can start. The response was “R” and “sexy” which prompted Woosung to say “Roary” like a cat roaring. With the laughs from the audience, he said he sucks at names and gave the example that he even named his dog Wolfie.
- “My love is ‘Sour’ with The Rose” which is a play on their song title ‘Sour’.
The Rose then went on to perform their official debut track “Sorry” and the single “Beauty and the Beast”. They said “The Rose’s hearts are sour without you” before they started singing their supposed final track “Sour“. As always, there was an encore. The band returned with tour t-shirts singing “Black Rose” before officially ending the concert. This is their fan song as their fandom name is “Black Rose”.
They aren’t done with the tour just yet so make sure to catch one of their stops. The Rose also hinted that they will be coming again next year so look out for that!
