The first-ever solo concert by YOASOBI in the US was an incredible mix of passion, emotion, and technological innovation. From the thrilling “The Blessing” opening number to the moving “Yoru ni Kakeru” encore, the duo’s music carried their audience on an incredible musical adventure.
YOASOBI has been at many festivals in the US including Head in the Clouds and Coachella. Now they’ve landed their first solo tour that started in Los Angeles, CA on April 18th, 2024. The concert at the Shrine Auditorium kicked off with a bang, as YOASOBI burst onto the stage with high energy, performing crowd favorites like “The Blessing” and more. The atmosphere was super hyped, with Ikura’s commanding presence and the use of a megaphone adding to the excitement.
YOASOBI in 3D
The event took an unusual turn, around thirty minutes in! The crowd was requested to put down their phones and lights and put on 3D glasses for the next set. With the melody of “Biri-Biri” starting, a 3D screen behind the band came to life. This brought the audience into a realm of wonder and a new experience with captivating images of pyrotechnics, little dragons, and more.
Evoking Emotions
After this immersive 3D segment, Ayase presented a message to the audience, despite admitting to being anxious while speaking in English. His openness touched the hearts of fans and forged a stronger bond between the artists and the audience. He expressed thanks for the sold-out crowd in Los Angeles! Also, the chance to host their own performance in the US. Ikura also took a minute to talk about her early aspirations to become a singer. She also mentioned the significance of playing in such a precious place. The pair’s openness and compassion won over the fans even more.
As the applause and chants from the audience intensified, YOASOBI began performing songs including “Idol,” “Gunjo,” and “The First Take.” Every song resonated with everyone who has ever tried to seek their ambitions, with each one conveying a unique message of hope. The track “Idol” is one that shot them to fame overnight and everyone was able to witness this with the crowds cheers and chants.
Encore
YOASOBI captured the spirit of their concert with “Heart Beat,” as the show neared the end. But the night wasn’t over yet. Returning for an encore, YOASOBI introduced their talented band members. They treated the crowd to one of their more popular tracks, “Yoru ni Kakeru”. In the end, YOASOBI’s first solo concert in the US wasn’t just a performance—it holds a message of the power of dreams and music.
