[Album Review] Paul Dateh & Ken Belcher “The Good Life”

This is a CD/Album review for Paul Dateh and Ken Belchers first album together “The Good Life”.

Track 1: Good Life “Good Life” is a really great track on the Album. The perfect song to listen to as soon as you pop the CD in! This song has a music video which we posted a while ago.A very catchy song, with Paul Datehs amazing vocals, Ken Belchers guitar and percussion, plus to make it better, they also added bass by Tim Archer and more percussion by Bobby Wilmore. From a rating of 1-10, its a 10!

Track 2: Felicia Fleck This is music without lyrics by Ken Belcher and Paul Dateh, which sounds great.  Usually, i don’t like listening to just music, i like to hear words with the beat, but when listening to Paul and Ken on violin and guitar, you just can’t help but love how it sounds. This is an awesome track.

Track 3: Hope That You “Hope That You” is… my favorite track on the album. Paul’s voice just puts a smile on everyone’s face and Ken’s guitar playing is just amazing!  HypnoticAsia Girls have seen Paul and Ken perform this song many times, and we love it every time. The best performance was at  “Harvest Moon Festival” where Paul pointed at the HA girls. The music sounds absolutely perfect and the recording sounds great. This song just lifts up your mood when you feeling down.

Track 4: The Inevitable Chase This song again is just music, sounds like it should be a soundtrack to car chase in a movie. Not only does the title give you that feeling, but the music is just perfect to listen to in the car… just don’t be in a car chase yourself. haha. Really nice track in the album to listen too.

Track 5: Simple Promise The first time i heard “Simple Promise” was when i received the CD. This is such a soothing song, and a great track. Beautiful music and amazing vocals. Really great lyrics to this song with a the perfect sound. After getting to Track 5 of the CD, you realize Paul and Ken are music geniuses.

Track 6: Meridian “Meridian” is once again music without lyrics, yet a soothing feel and a great sound. Sound amazing!

Track 7: Another Chance This track is titled “Another Chance”. This sounds great, loving Paul’s voice, like always. The first time i heard this song was when i received this album in the mail. Its another favorite on the CD, just sounds so great, with great lyrics and a good meaning to the song. A must listen.

The Good Life

Overall, this album gets a 10/10 from me. One of the best albums in 2009 and is an album you just can’t help but want. All vocals and music are by Paul Dateh and Ken Belcher themselves, and the recording, editing and producing was also by the two of them.
