Amanda Ong’s secret wedding song honors the highs and lows of her relationship in her latest EP, “I Remember”.
Kept secret from her partner for almost a year and a half, Amanda Ong started writing her wedding vows into a song – ‘I Remember’ – after attending a wedding in 2021. This song features in Amanda’s newest EP, along with other songs depicting the highs and lows of her relationship. This includes two a cappella covers produced by the couple. The EP is available on all major streaming platforms.
About I Remember
‘I Remember’ describes Amanda’s favorite, most cherished moments that have been etched into memory. One such memory involves her partner dedicating a performance to her in school. Upon realizing that everyone would turn their heads in her direction, he quickly announced, “Don’t look at her, she doesn’t like attention!”
Since my partner is a beatboxer, I wanted him to be the vocal percussionist on this track as well, but I couldn’t let him know what it was about since it was meant to be a surprise. So I wrote a completely different set of lyrics and told him that this was a Fiverr client’s order, and he’s a paid sessionist on the song.
Amanda Ong
This latest song features a chorus written and sung in Hindi, her in-laws’ ethnic language. The easiest option would’ve been for her partner to translate it, but since it was meant to be a secret and a surprise, Amanda instead enlisted the help of her friend, Sreshya, to translate the chorus for her.
Following the single release, there will be a music video premiere on Amanda’s YouTube channel, incorporating vlog-style footage of her relationship over the years of being together.
