On December 3, 2023, K-pop star CHUU held her first solo concert in LA at the Orpheum Theater. CHUU was previously a member of the girl group Loona but unfortunately didn’t attend the concert at that time. The Orpheum has been used for many KPOP concerts over the past year including: CIX, xikers, Omega X, and more.
The Concert Begins
CHUU opened the show with “My Palace” and “Underwater”. After performing the opening songs, CHUU paused to interact with fans and voice her excitement about starting her first tour. She described the deep bond she shares with supporters, especially when singing the song “Underwater.” These heartfelt moments fostered an intimate atmosphere, bringing the artist and audience closer together. CHUU showed off her musical range by covering Jeremy Zucker’s “Come Thru” and performing “Hitchhiker”, off of her latest album. Her songs highlighted her talent for adapting to varied genres, dazzling the audience with her vocal artistry.
CHUU x Crowd Interactions
The concert turned interactive as CHUU engaged the audience in a creative drawing segment, displaying words on the screen for her to sketch. This unique portion showcased CHUU’s flair for entertainment, surprising her dedicated fanbase, known as Kkoti, with a multifaceted show. Delighting fans, CHUU put on a Santa outfit and performed a heartwarming “White Christmas” cover as an early Christmas gift at her concert, spreading festive cheer with her playful energy.
Brimming with energy, CHUU delivered electrifying performances of Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off” and her dynamic hit “Heart Attack” that had the crowd on their feet. Her charismatic stage presence and enthusiasm commanded the venue.
The Show Comes to and End
However, the concert took a reflective turn as CHUU candidly shared the challenges she faced during a difficult year; including moments of self-doubt and lost confidence. In a heartfelt discussion, she credited her Loona members, Orbits, and Kkoti for their unwavering support. They bring her joy on stage, and create beautiful memories together. CHUU promised to return to Los Angeles with an even better tour. Also exciting fans by hinting at the possibility of a special stage with her Loona members.
CHUU’s concert at the Orpheum Theater ended powerfully with a poignant performance of “Alien” that left a lasting impression on the audience. Returning for an encore, she closed the night with the title track from her album, “Howl.” The concert showcased CHUU’s musical talent, versatility, and bond with her fans, signaling a promising future for the rising K-pop soloist.
