On Sunday, June 25th, 2023, South Korean boy group, Cravity held their last USA stop on the Masterpiece tour in Los Angeles, California. The concert took place at the venue, Avalon Hollywood where many K-POP groups have previously performed.
Who is Cravity?
Cravity is a 9-member South Korean boy group consisting of members Serim, Allen, Jungmo, Woobin, Wonjin, Minhee, Hyeongjun, Taeyoung, and Seongmin. The boy group debuted in 2020 under Starship Entertainment and have been rising in the music industry with each and every release.
Masterpiece In Los Angeles Is Special
While all the stops on the tour hold a special spot for the group, Los Angeles was a little more special. Member Allen, who is Taiwanese-American, grew up in Los Angeles. His family and friends were at the concert and they showed him and the group lots of love and support.
Now let’s get to the concert coverage!
StudioPAV & LUVITY
The concert was well organized as fans filled the venue! While both floors of the venue were packed with LUVITY (fandom name), they were all respectful of each others space. Allen’s family and friends took up a corner of the venue but blended in well and interacted with the fans around them. They passed out cough drops (much needed since fans are expected to scream) and cheered for the group alongside everyone.
The Concert Began
The concert began on time and they had a VCR that introduced the members one by one. This garnered cheers from the crowd as their favorite members came up on the screen. Cravity appeared on stage and performed their first three tracks, “Get Lifted,” “Baddie,” and hit track, “My Turn”. After the first set of performances, the introduced themselves one by one. They didn’t hesitate to mention it was Allen’s hometown and they were excited to be there.
After a short intro, they went back to having powerful performances. Cravity sang “Flip That Frame” as well as, “VEDI VIDI VICI”. LUVITY sang along to their favorite tracks. While talking with fans again, they said it was time to show off their rizz which is a Gen-Z reference to charisma. Allen stated that was too hard to do this with his family present…but that didn’t stop him from taking off his jacket. While everyone had a good laugh, they announced their next tracks. The boy group performed their hit tracks, “Bad Habits” as well as, “Gas Pedal”.
Colorful Cravity
After an artistic VCR that showed the members painting, they came out with very colorful outfits. It was time for “Give Me Your Love” and “Maybe Baby”. Interacting with fans once again, it was revealed that the two tracks were created with 2023 concerts in mind. Taeyoung mentioned that this time the group came out with bright colors for a more youthful look.
The top-notch performances continued well throughout the night. During “Fly”, Allen introduced the performance as a pilot. The fun choreography for this track definitely caught the attention of the audience and hyped them up. Another fun track performed was “Boogie Woogie” and they asked their fans to sing along.
“Boogie Woogie” was special because they performed it at KCON LA 2022 rookie stage. This is where they revealed they’ll be at KCON again this year. While KCON already made this announcement, it didn’t stop the excitement heard from the audience.
Fan Interactions
While this concert isn’t a fanmeeting, it didn’t stop the group from interacting with fans. Cravity did a lightstick wave that many try at concerts except this time, they started from the front and went back to and up to the 2nd floor. They mentioned that the waves are diff in LA due to the beaches; better than Santa Monica. Their cheesiness caught the attention of fans and had them laughing. Hyeongjun playfully danced to a part of NMIXX’s song “Dice” where they sing Big waves big waves which was in reference to the lightstick wave. Next up, “OOH AHH” and “Party Rock” wrapped up their fun section of the concert.
Cooler Side Of Cravity
It was time for the boy group to chance once more so they played another VCR. They returned afterwards in a cooler image to perform “Vivid” and “New Addiction”. When they stopped for breather, they talked about what they like about LA – some said Disneyland while others mentioned beaches. Of course, food is always associated with LA so they mentioned, LA galbi and BCD Tofu House. The boys also joked by asked Starship Entertainment to let them go to Disneyland. It was revealed that only Allen has been for a school trip. The fans supported them by chanting ‘Starship’!
The concert wasn’t over yet. They told their fans to stretch for their next high energy songs. Cravity performed “Jumper” and “Pow”! And as we previously mentioned, the boys loved talking with fans. So after performing the two tracks, they chatted again. Allen mentioned his high school Korean teacher is in the crowd and thanked her for teaching him Korean to help him survive in Korea. One of the members did the happy dance for happy cat but Seongmin didn’t know so they asked the audience to show him. Seongmin attempted to copy but his members jokingly said he looked like a chicken. Instead he did the “Queencard” [(g)-idle] choreography instead.
Allen did a sexy floor dance but the members were shocked. They all started walking off the stage and said goodbyes because Allen’s family was watching. The members were embarrassed for him. The group all ended up dancing one by one as fans cheered them on. It was the perfect time to start “Groovy” as they mentioned it was their last songs.
Can’t have a concert without an encore
It’s not a concert without an encore. The boys came back out in their Cravity t-shirts and sang their track, “A To Z” before taking a photo with fans and saying goodbye one at a time. This was Allen’s chance to give his very own TED Talk and didn’t forget to tie in their concert name, “Masterpiece”.
Member Woobin introduced the last song, “Light The Way” which was written by him. They said their final goodbyes and said the date, “June 25…fans say remember our time”. Cravity members didn’t forget to say, “see you guys in 2 months at KCON” and with that, left the stage.
They had a VCR playing as some fans left the venue and others got ready for their snapshot with the boys.
