Korean hip-hop pioneers Dynamic Duo and dance team PROWDMON performed to an amazing crowd at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, California, on February 10th, 2024. The event served as a preview for the much awaited art show at the museum. “Only the Young: Experimental Art in Korea, 1960s–1970s,” which will draw in viewers from February 11 to May 12, 2024.
Dynamic Duo, made up of Choiza and Gaeko, is well-known for fusing hip-hop, R&B, and Korean music in a unique way. Their thought-provoking lyrics and energetic stage presence have made them standouts in the Korean music industry. PROWDMON, a rising star renowned for their unique style and dance, joined them, bringing something new to the evening’s performance. As guests gathered in anticipation, the Hammer Museum buzzed with excitement. In the museums transformed courtyard, Dynamic Duo and PROWDMON took the stage, igniting the night with an energetic fusion of beats and rhymes. Four members of PROWDMON were in attendance and included Monika, Lip J, Minz, and Kayday. They started by performing to a Street Woman Fighter remix track. They then switched to a KPOP remix that included aespa, NewJeans, and more. After hyping up the crowd, Dynamic Duo took the stage with one of their latest tracks “AEAO”. Also performing older tracks, “Go Back” and “Ring My Bell” as these have always been crowd favorites. PROWDMON joins Dynamic Duo on stage for a recent viral track titled “Smoke” that’s originally performed and choreographed by Team Bebe. After powerful performances and encores, they left the LA crowd feeling in awe of what the just witnessed.
The collaboration between the artists and the audience was noticeable. With cheers and applause filling the air as the performers delivered one electrifying track after another. Dynamic Duo’s insightful reflections on life and society intertwined seamlessly with PROWDMON’s raw authenticity. This created emotions that mirrored the themes explored in the upcoming art exhibit.
