From the music video and single alone that was jut released, we can already see that each member has their own unique talent; from singing to dancing. Get to know the members better with our interview below that features Vian and Feanna. The members of ME& explain their group name, talk about their debut single, future goals, and more.
Please introduce yourself to our readers and share how Me& came together?
- Vian: Hello! I am Vian@ Me&. Before joining the group, I was an athletic individual, and dancing was my biggest hobby during my free time. The company noticed my dance videos from when I was studying in Korea and invited me to join the group.
- Feanna: Hello, HypnoticAsia. We are Me& and I’m Feanna. The Me& project was initiated by our company Media Asia approximately two years ago. I joined this company at the age of 14 as a solo singer and when I received the news that the company wanted to form a girl group, I felt it was a very interesting opportunity. That’s why I decided to join this project.
What does the name Me& mean?
- Vian: Me& represents a collective that includes both individuals and groups. It’s not just a gathering of people but a diverse group of unique individuals coming together. The symbol represents the endless possibilities that our group can explore.
- Feanna: The name Me& reminds me of our names Feanna, Mandy and Vian. It gives me a sense of “you and me,” but it actually showed up from a dream I had.
How do you navigate and balance personalities within the group? What do the strengths of each member bring to Me&?
- Vian: In Me&, we effectively utilize our individual strengths to navigate and balance the different personalities. For example, Feanna primarily supports our vocals, I assist with the dance aspect, and Mandy provides leadership for the overall picture.
- Feanna: This is one of the things that I find very interesting. The three of us have different personalities, but when we come together, there is a wonderful balance. We complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses within the team. In the group, I am in charge of singing, Vian takes on the role of dancing, and Mandy is the team leader. The three of us support and uplift each other.
Tell us all about your debut single “Eye to Eye” that was just released! What do you want listeners to hear and feel in terms of music, theme and emotions?
- Vian: ‘Eye to Eye’ is an exhilarating blend of captivating dance choreography, soulful vocals, and mesmerizing rap verses, seamlessly unified by the Love Attack Squad – Me&. The song serves as an anthem for the transformative power of love, breaking barriers and fostering genuine connections. Love heals. Let’s dance together.
- Feanna: Our first single, “Eye to Eye,” is a highly energetic and upbeat song. It is a full English track, and the production team is from Korea, making it a more pop-oriented song. The concept of this song is to spread love, aiming to inject love and vitality into the hearts of everyone who listens to it.
Can you share any fun moments from behind the scenes of making your debut? Practicing, recording and filming?
- Vian: We shot the music video in Korea. During some scenes, there were some exaggerated movements that caused some mishaps, but I handled it professionally and moved on. It was my first time experiencing this kind of situation and I think we can all safely say we learnt a lot!
- Feanna: I remember when we were training in Korea, I often forced Mandy to go shopping with me because being under constant pressure, I needed to escape from that environment for a while. However, Mandy is not fond of shopping. At that time, she was like my boyfriend, carrying my shopping bags and holding my food. We also experienced our first snowfall together, creating a very romantic memory.
Talk about your training process leading up to this debut. What challenges did the group face?
- Vian: Since the three of us have busy schedules, our training sessions hold great value for us. It’s the time when we can get to know each other better.
- Feanna: The three of us have our own strengths and weaknesses. For example, dancing is a big challenge for me. I am grateful that even when we’re facing different challenges, we support each other and are willing to provide mutual assistance and complement each other.
Where do you see Me& in a few years? Any specific goals or dreams you aspire to achieve?
- Vian: I hope that Me& continues to shine on stage and spreads love to the world. I also believe that we are stepping out of our comfort zones to bring new music to the world.
- Feanna: To be honest, I dare not imagine too much because for me, this feels like a dream. However, I hope the three of us can perform on more stages together, and not only with upbeat songs but also with the challenge of slow songs.
How about collaborations? Can we expect any in the near future? OR is there anyone you dream about collaborating with?
- Vian: As Me& is filled with various possibilities, there may be opportunities to collaborate with others, even internationally. Haha, I hope so!
- Feanna: I am a very ambitious person, so there are definitely many artists I would love to collaborate with. If I had to choose, I would love to collaborate with one of Hong Kong’s Heavenly Kings, Andy Lau, as my mother is a big fan of his.
What plans do you have to engage with your fans? Any plans for events such as fan meetings, concerts or social media interactions?
- Vian: During my free time, I usually focus on engaging with our fans through social media. They are incredibly adorable and love creating cute content to share online. In the future, I will continue to work on myself and produce good music, hoping to have fan meetings and concerts whenever possible.
- Feanna: Of course, I really hope to meet the fans as soon as possible. Right now, I leave it to the company to arrange for us, and I hope to have the opportunity to meet everyone up.
Is there a message you’d like to convey to your supporters?
- Vian: Thank you for all your support and love. Please look forward to our upcoming songs and performances. We hope to see you soon!
- Feanna: I’m deeply grateful for the love and support you have shown towards Me& and Feanna. The strength and encouragement you give us are immeasurable. We will strive to bring you better stages and music. Thank you for all your support and love you!!!
