[EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW] MustB Talk Comeback, Influences, Recent Tour & More!

MustB, a 5-member South Korean boy group who made their debut in 2019 under MUSTM Entertainment have joined us for an interview! These young idols talk about their most recent tour in the USA and what was most memorable to them. The five also reveal that they’ll soon be making a comeback, what kind of concept they wish to one day do, and artists they look up to and whom influence them.

MustB is a K-POP idol group that has five talented members: Doha, Taegeon, Wooyeon, Soohyun, and Sihoo. Their name is an abbreviation of “Must Believe” and that means to ‘trust in me, in you, and in us”. They have a very meaningful name and MustB believe there is mutual trust between the group and their fans, Muffins!

1. Please introduce yourselves to the readers of HypnoticAsia!

• TAEGEON: Hello everyone, I am Taegeon, the rapper and prince leader of MustB.
• WOOYEON: Hello everyone, I’m Wooyeon with appealing vocals and wild handsomeness in MustB.☺️
• DOHA: Hi everyone, I’m Doha from MustB. I’m in charge of sweetness and warmth in the team.
• SOOHYUN: Hello, I’m MustB’s Soohyun!
• SIHOO: Hello, subscribers to HypnoticAsia. I’m Sihoo, the youngest of MustB. 🥰

2. You recently completed your U.S. tour. Tell us about your experience! Were there any memorable moments that you recall?

• TAEGEON: I thought it was a country full of passion and enthusiasm. Every city and region was special!
• WOOYEON: It was great to be with everyone. I want to feel the culture and food again, and meet you all again.
• DOHA: There was a time when I was touched by Muffins who held up my birthday sign during a concert in the U.S.! Thank you so much for that day!
• SOOHYUN: I remember all the performances and the fans’ cheers! I remember having fun at Universal Studios, the roller coasters were so much fun and it was fun to watch the WaterWorld!
• SIHOO: Thanks to the enthusiastic support from the U.S., of course, we had so much fun at the concert! I think it was more memorable because I went to Universal Studios and Walmart in the U.S.!

3. If you have the opportunity again, would you like to tour the U.S. again? Any states you’d like to visit that you haven’t already?

• TAEGEON: Yes! I want to go back again and visit all the states I couldn’t visit this last time. Call me anytime!
• WOOYEON: I’m looking forward to the opportunity soon. I want to revisit the states I could visit this time and also want to visit the states that I couldn’t visit this time.
• DOHA: Everywhere in America is new and amazing! There are so many beautiful places!
• SOOHYUN: Yes, of course! I really want to visit to New York, Chicago, and Denver!
• SIHOO: Of course, I want to go again! I also want to visit Denver, which I have visited only for transit! Even Miami!

4. Do you have plans to make a comeback with new music in the near future?

• TAEGEON: Yes! We are working hard on it. Please look forward to it and show a lot of interest! 
• WOOYEON: Yes! I think it will be either in September or October. Please give your attention and love!
• DOHA: Yes, we are preparing for our comeback right now! 
• SOOHYUN: We’re preparing for our comeback in September or October. We’re done with the song, and we only have the choreography and the shoot left!
• SIHOO: Yes, we’re making a comeback in October! 🥰

5. Is there a concept or genre you would like to try that you haven’t already done?

• TAEGEON: I always say this, but I want to try a sexy concept and do it in the future. And I like sexy and decadent concepts!
• WOOYEON: I want to do a sexy and dreamy concept. And I want a catchy song with strong popularity.
• DOHA: I want to try a sexy concept!
• SOOHYUN: I want to do a very powerful and intense-like performance. The perfect group dance!
• SIHOO: I want to try a dreamy and sexy concept with a sad and sentimental love story!

6. If you had to choose only one of your songs to represent MustB, which would it be and why?

• TAEGEON: There are many songs, but I would pick the one called “Shed A Light.” It was the first song I wrote the lyrics for, so it’s meaningful and has our determination.
• WOOYEON: I like our title song, “Realize,” but also I like “Shed a Light,” which expresses how thankful we are to be together with people around us: family, company, members, friends, and lastly, Muffins!
• DOHA: “VEIL”! I think we can show our performance and individuality.
• SOOHYUN: I think “I want u”! It’s a cute-concept song, so I personally don’t prefer it, but it’s a precious debut song that made us where we are now. The song is really good, so it’s a song that receives a lot of love.
• SIHOO: I think it’s individuality! Each member has their own charms and different charms, so I think there are many charms that make them become fans!

7. If you could choose only one artist to collaborate with, who would it be and why? 

• TAEGEON: I would personally pick Mino (WINNER) because I like everything about him, including his rap and trendy style. 
• WOOYEON: Park Hyoshin! I respect him and believe he is the greatest vocalist. 🥰
• DOHA: It’s BAEKHYUN! He is my role model and I love Baekhyun’s music style.
• SOOHYUN: I want to work with people who have melodic vocals like Kyungseo, Shaun and Joosiq!
• SIHOO: It’s Justin Bieber. Personally, I’m a fan of him and my voice is unique. I want to make a song that is hip with Justin Bieber!

8. Which artist(s) do you look up to the most? 

• TAEGEON: I respect GD (G-Dragon of Big Bang) the most because he created a whole new culture.
• WOOYEON: As I mentioned, I respect Park Hyoshin very much.🥰
• DOHA: It’s BAEKHYUN!
• SOOHYUN: It’s TAEMIN of SHINee! Although he is the youngest in the group and didn’t have a lot of parts in the beginning, I want to be a singer who grows up like Taemin when I see him doing solos.
• SIHOO: It’s Jay Park! He started as an idol, but he is successful as a rapper, entertainer, businessman, and CEO of a label. I respect him and think there’s a lot to learn from him.

9. What are some things you like to do during your free time?

• TAEGEON: I usually take naps! But I spend my downtime communicating with MustB’s Muffins these days.
• WOOYEON: These days I don’t have much free time, so when I do, I get to sleep, binge watch dramas or movies, or go shopping.😚
• DOHA: I usually go shopping! I like shopping!
• SOOHYUN: I usually play games or watch videos~ I also like watching movies and animations!
• SIHOO: I like to work out, so I work out or play games. 🥰

10. Do any of the members have an interest in acting? Would you choose dramas, movies, or musicals? If yes, what type of role?

• TAEGEON: Us, MustB members, are interested in many different things. Personally, I want to be in a movie and portray a villain!
• WOOYEON: All our MustB members are interested in acting. I want to be in the drama “School” series.
• DOHA: I’m very interested! If I have a chance, I want to try web dramas, movies, or musicals. All of our members are interested in acting.
• SOOHYUN: I really want to try an action drama or movie! I did Taekwondo when I was young!
• SIHOO: I think all members are interested in acting! I am interested in dramas and movies! I want to try acting with a comfortable image like a close friend of the main character rather than the main character!

11. Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans, Muffins?

• TAEGEON: We can work hard and move forward thanks to Muffins, who always wait and support us. I sincerely appreciate it and let’s always work hard and be together healthy and happy for a lifetime. I love you!
• WOOYEON: Thank you all for existing in the world and coming to us. We are here because you are there for us. Thank you.
• DOHA: Dear Muffins, we’re getting ready for our comeback I want to show you our songs and performances where we can be with you as soon as possible, Muffins! Thank you for always supporting us. I’m happy and happy because of you, Muffins! I love you!
• SOOHYUN: Thank you for always supporting me, encouraging me, and being with me when I’m happy or sad. I’ll repay you with a good comeback soon!
• SIHOO: Thanks to Muffins, we are able to gain strength and grow further. Saying thank you is not enough, but I’m always thankful and I love you so much ❤️ We will be MustB and Sihoo who will repay you with better results. 🥰
