Check out the interview with producer Smash Hitta below.

HYPNOTICASIA: What made you realize music was your path and has it always been your dream to be a producer?
SMASH HITTA: Pretty much been around music all my life. My dream was to do anything with music… as an artist, songwriter or a producer. I simply just love to be in the creative zone.

HYPNOTICASIA: Where do you get the inspiration when writing/producing music?
SMASH HITTA: My life is where a lot of my inspirations come from to write and produce all of my songs. Sometimes I get inspired by people around me.

HYPNOTICASIA: Do you have a motto?  If so, what is it and why?
SMASH HITTA: Not really lol, I always say….

HYPNOTICASIA: How would you describe the music you create?
SMASH HITTA: Depends on what kind of mood I am in that day when I start creating a song.

HYPNOTICASIA: What makes your music unique?
SMASH HITTA: Everything you hear in my songs is me. I love all genres of music so sometimes you can hear a lot of them mixed into one.

HYPNOTICASIA: Do you produce music full time?
SMASH HITTA: I produce and write most of the time, now I started managing & artist development.

HYPNOTICASIA: What is your current work schedule like?
SMASH HITTA: My schedule changes every single week, depending on the deadlines of the projects.

HYPNOTICASIA: Did your view in music change since you started producing your own music?
SMASH HITTA: All I know is, producing my own music was easy until I had to get out there to the world and expand.

HYPNOTICASIA: What is some equipment you use when producing music?
SMASH HITTA: I have 4 keyboards I rotate when I travel from city to city. A few guitars and my mac. That’s it!

HYPNOTICASIA: Has there been one particular moment in your career that you’ve been proud of?
SMASH HITTA: There has been many proud moments. I would say it’s between Megan Lee getting signed to a major label in Korea and Jason Chen’s “Best Friend” hitting a few major charts. 🙂

HYPNOTICASIA: Do you have an artist already in mind when producing music?
SMASH HITTA: I never have an artist in mind when I produce unless I’m actually in a session with that artist.

HYPNOTICASIA: From all the music you have produced, do you have a favorite?
SMASH HITTA: I would say… Megan Lee “Destiny” because that is the first song we wrote and produced together. Also, this new song I produced for my new artist Jasmine Clarke called “Still Your Girl”.

HYPNOTICASIA: You’ve produced many tracks on Jason Chen’s upcoming album “Never For Nothing”; which would you say is your favorite and what was the process like?
SMASH HITTA: I would say a song called “Thank You” was one of my favorites. Jason wanted a song for all his fans and the day after I created the beat for it. Then showed him and we wrote it with Adien Lewis in a matter of hours.
HYPNOTICASIA: Since you’ve worked with Megan Lee many times, how do you feel knowing she is currently training and gearing up toward her debut in Korea?
SMASH HITTA: I am sooooooo proud of her! There is nothing better than seeing someone you worked so hard and overcome a lot with, get an amazing opportunity to show her talents to the world. Dream came true for both of us I would say.
HYPNOTICASIA: If you could produce for an artist you haven’t already worked with, who would it be and why?
SMASH HITTA:I feel like I am still new to the industry and I would want to work with everyone. Artists like, Chris Brown, Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars and more.
HYPNOTICASIA: If you weren’t producing music, what would you be doing instead?
SMASH HITTA: Probably in the music industry still, either A&R or a Manager.

HYPNOTICASIA: How does social networking benefit you?
SMASH HITTA: ALOT; I can say I get a lot of my work from Twitter & Facebook. Also, connecting with all the fans doesn’t hurt.
HYPNOTICASIA: If you could give a word of advice to an aspiring music producer, what would it be?
SMASH HITTA:
It would be to do this because you love it not because u want to get rich. If you are fortunate to make it in the industry, its being better and better consistently. That’s the hardest part if you don’t love what you do every single day.
