On a chilly Thursday evening in Toronto, Canada, GEMINI began his first ever North American headline tour. This took place on March 16, 2023 at The Axis Club!
Opening Acts: Koven Wei and Ethan Low
Toronto’s very own Koven Wei and Ethan Low warmed up the crowd. Koven showcased his love for early 2000s rock with an Avril Lavigne inspired song. He also added a modern touch covering LØREN’s “All My Friends Are Turning Blue”. Koven was later joined by Ethan Low in a collaborative performance. Ethan took over the stage and presented various R&B tracks. Including his new release “GEMINI”, which was fitting for the night. He rejoins Ethan for another performance and before saying their goodbyes, they asked the crowd to cheer for GEMINI.
GEMINI and FALLENS
FALLENS made his entrance by playing a mix of PinkPantheress, Drake and various upbeat songs. Behind him was a chromatic projection of “GEMINI STILL BLUE TOUR IN NORTH AMERICA”. It had everyone pulling out their phones for a quick photo before the night ahead. FALLENS created a transition for a second of silence where the crowd fell into a hush before launching into “Love Is Banned”. It soon became clear what was about to happen! The cheers began for GEMINI, who walked out singing in a black leather jacket and black sunglasses.
GEMINI takes a moment at the end of the second song, “Bad,” to introduce himself and FALLENS. GEMINI mentions this is his first time in Toronto and that it is cold, so let’s make it hot! Continuing with his Still Blue album tracklist, GEMINI performed “Do Me Right” next. By the end of “Rollercoaster,” the crowd erupted in screams and cheers as he removed his sunglasses. GEMINI beams after hearing the audience sing “Mon Amour” and “Hola” word for word. During the last chorus of “Hola”, he put his free hand up to wave back and forth and the audience joined in, singing along.
GEMINI continues the night with his various singles “Inside Out”, “She Lives in Paris”; and songs with notable features such as “UFO ft Seori”, “Making Love ft pH-1”, “1, 2, 3 ft BIG Naughty” and “Naked ft Leellamarz”. He performed just about the entire discography including “Going”, his first solo release! GEMINI turned up the heat on a cold, windy night in Toronto with his songs “MIA” and “Trip”. This had the crowd jumping to the beats.
GEMINI suddenly says he doesn’t want to leave, a signal that the show is coming to end but not until he performs “Know me”. His final song before he walks off is the Still Blue album outro track “More & More” and his performance, like the title, leaves the audience wanting more.
Encore
Fans began chanting “Encore!” and GEMINI reappears a minute later to close the night with “a place we used to go” and “Broken Love” which is when fans in the front row gave him roses!
Before officially leaving the stage, GEMINI calls FALLENS up to say goodbye and wave to the crowd as they make their exit. The wall to ceiling stage visuals and lighting produced a mesmerizing show paired with the R&B artist’s smooth vocals. GEMINI’s Still Blue Tour is not to be missed!
