What was the most memorable moment during the preparation for your debut?
- BRIAN: For me, it was probably when we were all practicing late at night, and we kind of lost our minds so we start singing sweet and sour at the top of our lungs.
- JIHO: Well, the most memorable part was shooting the music video. Everything was my first time, and it was exciting to see myself being monitored from individual scenes to group performances, and I still remember the thrill of seeing the final music video.
Any fun stories/anecdotes from the music video filming you can share?
- BRIAN: There was a scene where I had to pull an all nighter studying at night, and I had to act like I was tired, but I was actually tired.
- JIHO: There was a scene where I drag MACKIAH by his ears and I think it reflected our playful moments really well.
How would you describe the dynamics among the members?
- BRIAN: Fun crazy goofy
- JIHO:
KAMDEN – We’ve known each other for a long time so we know what each other wants without saying a word
BRIAN – Silly moments often occur when we miscommunicate
SIYOON – We have a lot of things in common
KYRELL – He plays a lot of pranks on me
SEUNGMO and MACKIAH – Their tensions are always high, so I struggle to follow up on them
Before debuting, how long did each member train, and what were some of the most challenging aspects of your training?
- BRIAN: I trained for a year and a half and the most challenging part as a trainee was probably my transition to FNC because I used to be in Yuehua.
- JIHO: I’ve trained for 4 years, and it was hard to be trained without knowing the specific debut date.
- KYRELL: I trained for about four months, and I struggled a lot at first because I’m really slow at learning dance
If you could collaborate with any K-pop artist or international artist, who would it be and why?
- BRIAN: I would like to collaborate with Jungkook from BTS, or Justin Bieber, because I really looked up to them, and I really love their voices
- JIHO: Personally, I want to collaborate with Jungkook from BTS! His recent solo releases were so cool, and it made me think of collaborating with him!
- KAMDEN: I want to perform rap songs with Mark of NCT
As roommates/dorm-mates, have you come up with any rules that everyone has to follow?
- BRIAN: We actually have a chores list that we have to do every day, but ever since we debut, we kind of slacked off because we have no time
- JIHO: We have a rule of that everyone should do their own dishes and take out the trash.
What are AMPERS&ONE’s aspirations for the future? Any specific milestones or goals you hope to achieve as a group?
- JIHO: Our goal is to claim Rookie of the Year, which is available for only once in a lifetime. Furthermore, our ultimate goal is to become the first group that pops in mind when people think of K-pop,
What can fans expect from your live performances for the new track “On And On”? Any special choreography or stage elements that you are particularly excited about?
- BRIAN: They can expect a really exciting and fresh performance. I’m really excited to show more of our sidetrack sheesh choreography.
- JIHO: Our point choreography is a wavy dance and it’s really simple to follow and cool at the same time!
If you could send a message to yourselves a year from now, what would it be?
- BRIAN: I hope you are still working hard as usual and staying humble, even if you succeed in the future. And also, love yourself because you come first.
- JIHO: Did you get the Rookie of the Year that you really wanted? You are doing good whether the result is satisfying or not, so keep working and become a person that continuously develop!
