EZ Mil Interview
Please introduce yourself to the readers of HypnoticAsia!
Hey, what good HypnoticAsia readers! Ez Mil here, pleased to be read by y’all today!
You recently signed to Eminem and Dr. Dre’s Shady Records/Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records. Congratulations! How did that come about and how do you feel after signing to the label(s)?
I felt ecstatic, because the people and artists that make up that three-headed monster are some of My ultimate idols.
You recently released a new music video for your song “Podium”. Tell us about the process of making that video.
It was actually a wild ride! For some reason the whole time we were filming I had a really bad cold, but glad it didn’t show as much!
When you are writing music, what would you say is your inspiration for the lyrics you put out?
Definitely what I am feeling at that current moment.
How did you get into music? Who or what are your influences?
Like whoever starts with anything, I was just also a massive fan of the craft at first. Anyone who didn’t give a care to what people said they should become in life, ultimately ended up influencing my lifestyle and the music I listened to.. Namely like Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, & A$AP Rocky
You released the track “Realest” alongside the one and only Eminem! Tell us a bit about how that came to be and what was it like working with the artist?
It was a surreal moment, I would say like minds attract and it felt like he was on point with me when it came to penning for “Realest”, like we both felt it was about time that we spoke.
What does your creative process include?
From a first thought, of a melody or word scheme.. I write it down or record my idea, then save it somewhere..
Tell our readers about your album DU4LI7Y and the deluxe version you recently released.
So my album focuses on the topic of a “Duality”, just for starters like me being Filipino-American, that’s a duality in itself. But then again, everything and everyone, I feel, has a duality.. And on the Redux version, it came to highlight the embodiment of my other side, and how it blends into me sometimes haha
We heard you had the opportunity to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Los Angeles Dodgers Filipino Heritage Night. How was that experience?
It was actually really fun, I love sports.
You were invited to the Won Soju Launch event in LA – what did you think of the event?
It was mad cool! Congrats to Jay Park! Also got to meet a lot of people, Dumbfoundead and Anderson Paak. Twas crazy!
If you could perform in any city in the world, which would it be and why?
Moscow, I feel like I can include different genres in my set over there >:) /,,/
If you could collaborate with any artist in the world, who would it be and why?
Probably A$AP Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, Tech N9ne, Jay-Z, Big Unc Snoopy, Crooked I.. ‘cause I feel like they are the best with the pen right now
What would you say to aspiring artists who are looking to make their debut or have their breakthrough in the music industry?
Just keep goin’, play your cards right and take the best step forward.
Can we expect more epic music in the near future?
You can count on that!
Lastly, what would you like to say to all your fans who have been supporting you from day 1?
Thank you guys so much! We up now baby!!! Lets keep it goin!!
