Pretzelle have released their latest single “U R Mine”! This new track definitely caught our attention so we wanted to learn more about the song, music video, and Prezelle themselves.
Thai female vocal group, PRETZELLE, has begun 2023 with a brand new sound showcased in their latest single, “ไม่รับความเห็นต่าง (U R Mine)”. This song represents the growth of the members by breaking from their previously introspective style as they embrace their more confident and assertive sides
while still maintaining the group’s signature charm.
I wrote part of the rap and helped with the lyrics for this song. It’s the first time PRETZELLE has been so involved in a song, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. It’s different from what we’ve done before, and it’s more playful and confident.
GRACE, the youngest member of PRETZELLE
The lyrics were entirely composed by PRETZELLE, with AUMAIM writing the main lyrics and ICE and GRACE composing the rap sections. “ไม่รับความเห็นต่าง (U R Mine)” is about being fiercely devoted to a romantic partner and not wanting to accept any “different opinions” or competition for their affection.
The song was produced by the talented Benz Kankanat Angkanagerathi, who has previously worked with PRETZELLE and composed the melody. It was mixed by Shin BongWon, who has been behind many hit songs, including “Ditto” by NewJeans.

Pretzelle Interview
Please introduce yourselves to the HypnoticAsia readers.
- Inc: Hi, I’m Inc from Pretzelle and I’m the main vocalist.
- Grace: Hello, I am Grace from Pretzelle. I’m the main rapper and dancer.
- Aum: Hello, I’m Aum from Pretzelle. I’m the leader, main vocalist, and lead dancer.
- Ice: Hi, I’m Ice from Pretzelle. I’m the main rapper and sub vocalist.
Since PRETZELLE formed during the COVID-19 pandemic, was it hard promoting as a group?
- Inc: Yes, it was difficult because, during the COVID-19 period, we could not go on promotional tours. We had to promote ourselves online, and, most importantly, we were unable to meet with our fans in person.
- Grace: There weren’t many live session concepts available at the time, and events that allowed us to meet our fans were limited. Music video shoots were also postponed due to the ongoing situation, and even content creation had to be done through video calls, which was a very challenging experience.
You recently released a new single, “U R Mine”, tell us more about the song.
- Aum: The new single, “U R Mine,” is about a girl who is confident in her feelings for a guy and is not seeking anyone’s approval or validation. She wants to call him her boyfriend and is sure about her feelings. And the members of the group actively participated in writing the lyrics for this song.
- Ice: This song conveys the message of self-assurance and confidence in one’s emotions and actions. We hope our listeners will be inspired and empowered by this message after listening to the song.
We also heard that all the members took part in writing the single, as well as it being mixed by Shin Bongwon. What was it like working on the track?
- Aum: Working on the track was an excellent experience for me. We received the beats and melody from our producer, and the topic “no more second opinions” relates to our ages and is a catchy sentence in Thai. It was an honor to have Shin Bongwon mix the track for us as we have been following his work, and it was a huge privilege to be able to work with him.
- Ice: We had a lot of fun working together on the lyrics and sharing our personal experiences and opinions. I enjoyed working with everyone and hope we will have more opportunities to collaborate in the future and work with Shin Bongwon again.
How would you say “U R Mine” differs from your previous tracks?
- Inc: Firstly, it has a different look, and it has a more confident and mature vibe. It also stands out from our previous tracks.
- Grace: Apart from being a collaboration between us, “U R Mine” also has a diverging chorus, as well as spoken words which is something we haven’t done before. In the main chorus, there are light, inserted vocals that make the song playful and unique compared to our previous tracks.
Any fun stories to tell from the single recording or the music video filming?
- Grace: All four of us recorded the speaking and singing parts together in this song. Usually, we record our parts separately, but this was the first time that we recorded together. It was really exciting and quite chaotic at the same time.
- Ice: In the filming part, Shokun (the male actor) had to act like he didn’t know what to do with this camera equipment, and then the cables got tangled with me for real, so I couldn’t really move.
In 2020, a couple of members joined the competition show ‘Lodi X Next Idol’. What do you think you gained from that experience?
- Inc: It was a good experience. We have a chance to perform in public and in front of a judge. We learned a lot about how to work with others. And since it was during the first wave of COVID. It was also one of the first shows we participated in.
- Ice: The competition at that time was challenging because we were given little time to prepare for the show. It made us strive to do our best within the given time, and we got to see other idol performances and exchange experiences with them.
What do you believe has changed the most since your debut, individually and as a group?
- Inc: Firstly, I feel like I’m managing my life better, and my friends also told me that I have become more mature. I think this is because I started working at the age of 18. As a group, I feel like we have become a closer team. At first, we were shy and didn’t talk much with each other, but now we understand and support each other a lot.
- Grace: I feel that my communication skills have improved. I feel that the more I can communicate and talk to people, help a lot in increasing this skill. In terms of working in a group, I feel that we communicate better with each other and help each other with opinions on both work and life.
If you get the chance, would you like to hold a world tour? If so, what countries do you dream about visiting to perform?
- Inc: That is our dream to bring our music to the world stage. If there’s a country we’d like to visit, it would be America. But we would be thrilled to visit any country and share our talent with new audiences.
- Grace: We haven’t had the opportunity to perform in other countries yet. If we get to go on tour, we would like to visit every country. But if I had to choose, America would be my first choice. We also dream of performing at big festivals like Coachella.
Who are your musical influences?
- Inc: Korean musicians because I have been a fan of K-pop since I was young, which made me want to become an artist like them. Currently, my favorite group is Stray Kids because I love their performances.
- Grace: Same here. I have been a K-pop fan for a long time and have a few favorite artists. My top group is BLACKPINK. Each of the members have their own individual style and sound. I admire them for their effort, commitment, and imagination. They make great music and always surprise me. They are a great inspiration to other K-pop artists.
- Aum: Paramore because I had the opportunity to play music in high school and started by covering Paramore songs. After that, I fell in love with singing because Paramore’s concerts had a powerful impact on me and made me want to pursue this career even more.
- Ice: IU and Taylor Swift because I have been following their music for a long time. Taylor Swift’s songs are the first English songs I practiced singing to. Both of them have unique styles and are great singers.
Is there a genre or concept in which you’ve always wanted to try?
- Inc: If I had the opportunity to change the concept, I would love to try experimenting with a blend of hip-hop and pop, similar to the style of 2ne1.
- Grace: If it’s a concept, I’d like to try a girl crush. And for the music genre, I’d like to try City pop.
- Aum: I’d like to try city pop, and I’ve recently had a growing fondness for the pop-rock genre.
Are there any artists you’d like to one day collaborate with? If yes, who would it be and why?
- Inc: Of course, Stray Kids lol, because they are my idols, and I want to meet them someday. I also really like the way that 3Racha creates its music.
- Aum: I would also love to collaborate with Stray Kids, as they are incredibly talented, and I really like them
Do any of the members have an interest in acting in dramas, movies or musicals? If so, what type of role?
- Inc: I’m interested in exploring various opportunities. I think it would be fun and I’d love to be a part of a comedy film.
- Grace: I would like to act in a horror movie. I would like to play a ghost, particularly one like in The Haunting of Hill House, because I feel that the ghost is both frightening and attractive.
- Aum: I would like to perform in a musical. This is because I studied theater at university, so I’ve always thought about trying it out at least once or several times in my life. I don’t mind what role I play as long as I get to sing in the performance.
- Ice: I’m interested in acting in movies and am open to playing any type of role.
When you aren’t promoting and performing, what do you enjoy doing?
- Inc: Most of the time, I stay at home and watch movies or YouTube all day lol.
- Grace: Same here. If I have free time, I don’t usually go out but watch series/movies and listen to music all day.
- Aum: I like to record short covers or go out and play board games or activities that are fun outside.
- Ice: I like staying at home too. Watch movies or series, or write a diary.
What are your goals and hopes for the future of the group?
- Inc: I want Pretzelle to be a band everyone knows, and I want Pretzelle to have lots of work.
- Aum: I want our song to be remembered forever, and then to have a big concert of our own both in and outside the country.
Is there anything you’d like to say to your fan club Twist reading this interview?
- Inc: I want to say thank you for being together all this time. Thank you for helping and trying to introduce our band to people who don’t know us. We promise to keep producing good work. Love ya!
- Aum: Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. Without Twists, there would be no PRETZELLE today. I love you.
- Ice: I am so grateful for all that everyone has done for me. I have been so thankful to have the opportunity to get to know all of you and I am looking forward to having even more conversations with you in the future.
