ITZY Have Fun With Midzy At LA Showcase

Popular JYP Entertainment girl group, ITZY, started off their first tour in Los Angeles on January 17, 2020, “ITZY Premiere Showcase Tour ITZY? ITZY!”.

SubKulture Entertainment began the tour at The Novo in Los Angeles, CA and will have a total of 5 stops (check HERE if you still want to catch them on tour). The 5-member girl group kicked off the show with their latest hit track “Icy” and wowed their fans, MIDZY, with sparkly black outfits that definitely showed how “Icy” they are. They then went on to perform “Itz Summer” before MC Danny Lim made an appearance to start up the showcase. The members mentioned how they previously came to LA for KCON and to film the music video for their track “Icy” in 2019, as well as, wanting to visit Disneyland and Universal Studios next time they come back and have more time.

Their first corner “Question? ITZY!” consisted of specially chosen fan videos where MIDZY were able to ask them important questions such as “What is ITZY’s goal for 2020?”, “Who has the most aegyo (cute image)?” and the most important question, “Does pineapple belong on pizza?”, which had ITZY and MIDZY at odds with some answers.

MC Danny’s final question of “What sort of music do you enjoy?” led to the second corner of “Challenge Mix Song.” This game consisted of 3 K-POP songs being played at the same time and the listener having to decipher all 3 songs. With the help of their fans, ITZY was able to get through 7 rounds of this game. Of course, there was a punishment for leader Yeji who had the least points this round. Despite being a punishment, Yeji looked as pretty as a flower in her sunflower mask.

After these fun corners, ITZY showed off their charms by covering two songs by their company seniors. They performed Twice’s “TT” and GOT7’s “Hard Carry” to the delight of fans before a video with all of their accomplishments since debut was shown. As a group that has just debuted in 2019, the girls have made a huge ripple in the industry.

The last corner “All in US! Roulette” ended up choosing the “whisper challenge” where the members wear headphones playing loud music while trying to pass a word down the line. This game caused both laughs and frustration to the members and fans alike as some members were great at the game, but some members struggled to get through the game… not to name any names but a certain center with ash blue hair…

ITZY ended the show performing “Cherry,” “Want It?” and their debut track “Dalla Dalla.” Their goodbye ment revealed that they hope to come back to Los Angeles. Let’s hope with them that they come back with a bigger show and tour soon.
