Chinese-American rapper jason chu returns with a new music video for Valentine’s Day.
The music video is for the track, The First “I Love You” which is an amazing remake of Ed Sheeran’s original song “Thinking Out Loud.”
For this new remake and music video, jason collaborated with some of his friends including singer Jae Jin and pianist Ruth Cho. They state that it’s a, “jazz-hop remake of Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud.” jason also surprises his girlfriend with an early Valentine’s Day present after the two have been dating for seven months. He even says ‘I Love You’ for the first time.
jason chu States,
A week ago, to surprise my girlfriend (because the 14th = too obvious), I asked her come to a warehouse in LA to help with “a music video”.
Little did she know that I was actually waiting with some gifts, finally ready to tell her something for the first time.
I’ve said “love” before. Sometimes (always) too fast. But this time, I waited seven months to say it – and I think, maybe, it finally meant what it’s supposed to.
My friends Jae Jin, David, and Ruth helped me make a jazz version of Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” (her favorite love song).
Also, a representative states, “Our hope in sharing the video this week is to present an alternative perspective on love and romance: love that isn’t “50 Shades of Grey”, but instead gentle and sweet.”
You can check out the new remake and music video below and be sure check out the track through his Bandcamp!
