On October 10, 2023, June’s concert JUNETOBER at the El Rey Theatre was nothing short of amazing, giving a night full of vibrant energy, intriguing performances, and touching encounters with the crowd. The opening act by Team B.U.K. set the perfect tone for the evening, paving the way for a concert that would leave a lasting impression.
Team B.U.K. Opens the Concert
The concert kicked off with Team B.U.K’s cover of EVNNE’s “Trouble”, “followed by NCT DoJaeJung’s “Perfume”, and Enhypen’s “Go Big or Go Home” added a diverse mix to the setlist. The dance cover group did well to hype up the crowd prepare them for the main act.
June Returns to LA after 4 Years
June started JUNETOBER with a collaborative performance of “Now” with Team B.U.K., who also choreographed the piece for the day. They highlighted the seamless coordination between June and the team, creating a visually captivating experience for the audience. June took a moment to connect with the fans, reminiscing about his visit four years ago. He expressed gratitude for their continued support. This isn’t the first time that June has been to the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. He was previously here four years prior with PLT.
The concert unfolded with June skillfully guiding the audience through various moods and emotions. A particularly memorable moment came when he took a seat on a stool, creating an intimate atmosphere. The performance of “Autumn Leaves” was punctuated with humor as June jokingly remarked, “Not my part,” when the featured artist Cheeze’s voice came out over the speakers. The concert continued with a nostalgic return to debut songs, including “Sérénade”. Fun fact: the music video for this song was filmed in the vibrant city of LA. Then performing his track “10cm” added another layer of depth to the concert, showcasing June’s ability to create beautiful musical.
The Climax of JUNETOBER
In order to encourage a sense of togetherness and friendship as the night came to a near, June urged everyone to move to the front. The audience literally jumped up and down throughout the performances of “Got U” and “Tonight,” which helped to energize the space. Fans jokingly encouraged June to chug water, demonstrating June’s connection with the crowd and the fun and excitement of the night as a whole. With “Beautiful,” the concert came to an close, leaving the crowd feeling content with a night well spent.
