SM Entertainment’s popular 5-member boy group, SHINee, from South Korea embarked on a North American tour. They stopped in Vancouver and Toronto, Canada before joining SubKulture Entertainment in Dallas, Texas and Los Angeles, California.
On March 26, 2017, the members took over Los Angeles at The Shrine Auditorium where fans gathered inside the venue and began singing along to the SHINee songs that were playing; they wait for the boys to come on stage. At around 7:50 PM, their VCR started playing introducing the members one at a time and the crowd cheered for each of them equally.
Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho and Taemin finally appeared on stage, performing their hit songs “Hitchhiking”, a remix of “Why So Serious?” and of course, the remix of “Juliette”. The guys then took a short break from the music to speak with their fans and to introduce themselves one by one. Key made sure to tell fans how excited SHINee was to see them. He mentioned that he always wanted to have a SHINee World in Los Angeles, not just visiting a K-POP Concert or KCON. He also said that fans were not watching YouTube but the real SHINee on stage.
After hyping up the crowd, they went ahead and performed some more great songs on the Shrine Auditorium stage. Over 6,000 fans were in attendance and were able to see stages that you can never see at a festival or other event but SHINee World. Songs such as, “Prism”, the show version of their debut track, “Replay”, “Hello” and many more that fans sang along to.
While Key had his solo dance break in “Juliette”, member Minho has his solo dance in “Ring Ding Dong”. Taemin did his solo track, “Goodbye” and members Onew and Jonghyun held a duet stage of the song “Please Don’t Go”.
Again they had another talk time where Taemin, Jonghyun and Onew talked with fans and had fun while Minho and Key went to change outfits. When they returned, everyone got a good laugh out of Taemin’s cute English. They then switched spots, letting Key and Minho take over the stage to talk with fans. They both spoke with fans about what they did. Minho told Shawol’s how much he loves the Lakers and Kobe Bryant but since Lakers weren’t playing when he was in LA, he had to watch the Clippers. He also revealed that Clippers are good but they sadly lost that day.
Key on the other-hand revealed he doesn’t know anything about Basketball and changed the topic to what they ate. They ate Hot Dogs and In N’ Out and Minho mentioned Santa Monica Beach. Key then started talking about La La Land and everyone asked him to sing a part of it.
After the talk was over and all the boys were back on stage, they performed “View”, “Ready or Not”, “1 of 1” and even “Dream Girl”. They ended their concert soon after but not before telling fans how much they love Los Angeles and how much they’d love to return with another concert with their fans. Taemin talked about his personal love for LA and his solo music videos and music.
With the promise to return with new music, the boys ended their North American tour with SubKulture Entertainment on a greate note after what fans said was a rough start in Canada.
Stay tuned for SubKulture Entertainment’s next North American Tour, this time with KARD in May!
