On the evening of March 31, 2013, Korea’s very own barefoot diva, Lee Eun Mi kicked off her 2013 U.S. Tour at Club Nokia (LA Live), in Los Angeles, California. From soulful and tear jerking ballads to fist pumping rock hits, it was no doubt a concert for all ages to enjoy. Lee Eun Mi put on a great show and sang her greatest hits including “Outsider,” “Lovers,” and of course, “I have A Lover.” She even performed Tina Turner’s “Rolling on the River” and Steppenwolf’s “Born To be Wild,” which had the crowd on their feet.
Personally, I loved the fact she spoke to the audience after every performance and interacting with the fans throughout the whole show. The crowd was constantly laughing along and responding to all her questions. There were even a few moments when the fans shouted their love for the diva. Also, two of her loyal fans even handed her a bouquet of flowers on stage.
What was even more admirable was her fanservice – she read a letter from a fan and recorded herself with four fans’ phones while singing on stage. Totally loved her interaction with her fans; she made you a part of the concert.
In the middle of the concert, a slideshow was shown of her past concerts and events. Also, the slideshow showed the singers headlines on the newspapers over the past years.
The crowd wanted more from the diva because two hours was simply not enough. Begging and chanting for an encore, the crowd refused to leave the venue without it. Lee Eun Mi soon returned to the stage and sang three more songs before introducing the band members and taking her final bow.
Shortly after her concert, a long line was formed for an autograph session and a quick meet and greet with the singer. No matter how young or how old you are, you would have enjoyed the concert, because Lee Eun Mi is Lee Eun Mi.
