[K- Concert Review] FT Island & CN Blue “Stand Up” Concert In LA

Korea’s top bands from FNC come together for their first joint concert in LA on March 9, 2012.

FT Island and CN Blue join forces and give Los Angeles a night to remember. The two bands gave spectacular performances at the famous Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles with thousands of fans going crazy in the audience.

The night started off with four member band CN Blue as they hyped up the crowd with their amazing sound and great music. Yonghwa, Minhyuk, Jonghyun and Jungshin all performed a total of eleven songs for their set-list of the night which included hit songs like Love, Tattoo, Now Or Never, and much more. Not only did CN Blue sing in Korean, they also sang their famous Japanese songs and even sang their own songs in English. They impressed the crowd with their great personalities on stage.

CN Blue didn’t start the night with just great music though; the band introduced themselves in English and kept speaking to the audience in English as well. They spoke English very well and from just being there, it was fun seeing them try their hardest to communicate with the crowd. Jungshin also introduced Red Hot Chilli Peppers as one of his favorite American bands while singer Yonghwa tried pulling a joke saying “BON JOVI, WHERE IS BON JOVI” gaining laughter in return for his joke. The audience jumped and sang along to their songs, especially “Love” which was their last song for their half of the concert. All the fans knew it and threw up L’s during “LOVE LOVE LOVE” and clapped when the song said “CLAP CLAP CLAP”. The members showed continuous love to LA by yelling out “l LOVE LA” and “WHATS UP LA?”.

The audience became slightly sad when CN Blue announced that they were done for the night and the lights came back on for a 5 minute intermission. The crowd was instantly hyped up again when Hong Ki as well as Jonghun, Seung Hyun, Jae Jin and Minhwan walked out onto the stage to get ready for their set. Hong Ki started off FT Island’s set with an “ANNYEONG” and stretches that made the crowd scream while the band got ready. They then started their set with hit song “Hello Hello” where fans were all doing his HELLO and GOODBYE hand movements.

FT Island rocked the second half of the concert with hit songs like “Love Love Love”, “Hello Hello”, “Revolution”, “Bing Bing Bing”, ” I Hope” and many more of their hit songs. Like CN Blue, they all did their introductions in English but then Hong Ki surprised the crowed by saying “I don’t know English” gaining a roar of laughter from the audience. JaeJin used the most English from the five and tried his best to communicate with the fans. Hong Ki also tried his best to keep speaking in English, but ended up looking for a fan who knew Korean to translate gaining screams from everyone!

FT Island rocked the stage with their Korean and Japanese songs making the crowd very happy. FT Island then showed love by yelling “I LOVE YOU LA” and leaving the stage. Fans on the left side started chanting “ENCORE” and it quickly became the whole Nokia Theatre chanting ENCORE which resulted in FT Island coming out again and singing “Like Birds”.

After FT Island had their encore stage, CN Blue joined them on stage and ran around saying thank you and playing around on stage once again yelling out “I LOVE LA”. All 9 boys showed their close friendship for the ending stage.
