SM Entertainment’s duo, TVXQ (also known as DBSK) have ventured their way to Los Angeles, California from Seoul, South Korea again to perform their hit songs. The only difference this time is that the two finally had their first solo concert in the United States.
Yunho (27) and Changmin (25) landed at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on July 4, 2013, where many fans greeted the members and wished them good luck at their concert.
On July 5, TVXQ opened their concert, “TVXQ! LIVE WORLD TOUR ‘Catch Me'” at the 7,000+ seated venue, Nokia Theatre.
Many fans flew in from all over, not just the U.S. but from Japan, Korea and many other countries, to attend this big event with the members of TVXQ.
The props and stage lights were great and the staff seemed to have done a good job setting up the stage between each song. This concert had a translator so all the fans could understand what the members were saying, even though Changmin (Max) and Yunho (U-Know) did a great job speaking in English with their fans throughout the whole concert.
SM Entertainment had merchandise sold at the concert venue including bags, t-shirts, slogans, towels, light sticks and other official items for fans to buy at the venue.
They had a full house, filled with a beautiful red light sticks that not only fans passed out to everyone outside of the venue, but SM also offered to fans as they walked into the venue to ensure the venue had the same red effect as concerts in Asia.
The singers started their concert with one of their older songs, “Rising Sun” and went on to perform hit tracks like “Catch Me,” “Keep Your Head Down,” and even “Humanoids.” They also performed songs off their album such as, “Like A Soap” and more. Yunho and Changmin both had their own solo’s where Yunho sang and danced to “Honey Funny Bunny” and Changmin performed “Whenever Wherever Whatever” by Maxwell.
They had great videos to go along with the concert which featured fellow artists Lee Yoon Hee, Sulli and many more.
The two went on to perform “Summer Dream” and they interacted with fans as well as their dancers. They took breaks between songs to chat with fans, using their English that was really great. They complimented California and their fans; Yunho repeated mentioning how hot it was.
Yunho and Changmin went through the whole venue twice, even though fans surrounded them, they continued to smile and greet them. Yunho commented toward the end of the concert, “this is the first time we went down in the crowd like that, but it’s because we wanted to become one with you.”
That really touched fans and had them crying as a video began to play with all the moments the group had with fans as well as their awards. After the video, Yunho and Changmin turned around to sing “I’ll Be There” but were shocked to see the fans all holding up a banner that read “We Will Always Be There” in Korean, which was given out with the light sticks to everyone outside the venue by DBSKnights and FYTohoshinki.
Yunho and Changmin took some pretty bad falls at the concert. Changmin slightly fell during “Catch Me” but he recovered quickly and went on with the dance. Yunho took a big fall during “Summer Dream” where he slipped while doing a back-flip causing him and a dancer to fall. Even though he hit his head and back, he recovered after a moment and to not worry fans, he joked and yelled “I almost died,” causing the audience to laugh.
Yunho and Changmin came back out after changing into their concert t-shirts to end their first world tour in LA with their encore. They sang their song “Mirotic” and everyone did the fanchants.
Yunho had finished the concert saying, “if you want us to come back, we will,” leaving a smile on everyone’s face. Overall, fans left the venue in smiles as well as tears after the members gave their final bows and thanked the fans for coming.
