[K-Drama Review] Life Is Beautiful (2010)

Life Is Beautiful is an SBS 2010 family drama that revolves around the Yang Family with their everyday life.This is a Family/Romance genre drama and has a total of 63 episodes. Even though it has a lot of episodes, after your done with the drama, you’ll start wishing you had a season 2.

The story is about how close the big family is and how they help each other out. The big family includes the grandparents, the parents, the children and their loved ones, as well as the grandchildren. This is about one of the only dramas in Korea where you can find a real gay couple as the center of the story. Dramawiki says,  “The story of a blended family comprised of multiple generations living on Jeju Island.” They beautiful story includes many couples and how they deal with life as well as how the family work together to solve problems like all families should.

This cute drama had well known actors and actresses like Kim Yong Rim who often plays the grandmas in many Korean dramas these days and  Choi Jung Hoon as the grandfather. The parents are played by Kim Young Chul and Kim Hae Sook, and they play the role well, of loving and caring parents. The uncles in the dramas include Kim Sang Joong and Yoon Da Hoon and they live with the rest of the family in the pension.

The eldest son is played by Song Chang Ui who is also playing gay in this drama along with Lee Sang Woo.

The oldest sister is played by Woo Hee Jin and she is married to her husband in the drama Lee Min Woo and their daughter Jung Da Bin.

Of course the younger siblings are played by Lee Sang Yoon and Nam Gyu Ri. They each have a significant other, but you’ll have to watch to find out.

This beautiful family drama will have you laughing and crying in almost every episode. A great drama to watch with everyone as well as watch alone.
