Kensho Kuma drops his new album “Lineage ov the Lyricist!”
The Bay Area MC has been doing music and representing the Berkeley, California area since 1998. The Japanese Bilingual MC announced the release of his 2020 free mix album and it was released earlier this month. The album is entitled “Lineage ov the Lyricist” and it is mixed by KZSU’s DJ Kevvy Kev.
Kensho says, “Pre-pandemic, my team ran the popular “Return of the Cypher” open-mic parties at the Boom Boom Room on a weekly basis for 7 years.”
He also serves on the board of directors for NGO Hip Hop for Change and is a teacher with OUSD. He states, “I’m far from a high-profile artist, but an MC built by the people in the Bay, who has been active in our local scene since the late nineties.”
But while Kensho states that he is still far from being a high-profile artist, its been revealed that, “Now years after years of honing his craft through multiple album releases and performances with legends like Talib Kweli and Immortal Technique, Kensho has risen through the ranks.”
Kensho has four full length albums as well as his new free mix album which was released this month.
It’s been revealed that,
Kensho Kuma has spent the vast majority of his consciousness developing a highly technical, disciplined writing style with a flawless delivery and live performance.
