Koda Kumi’s upcoming music video “Dance In The Rain” has been filmed using virtual reality technology available only on the Oculus Rift.
The innovative new music video will make its debut at TENT LONDON, a major design trade show, from September 18th to September 21st. Afterward, the music video will be made available at TOKYO DESIGNERS WEEK from October 25th to November 3rd. Viewers will be able to experience the video using the Oculus Rift at both event.
The Oculus Rift is a virtual reality headset that has the potential to change the way we experience media. The technology is currently not available to the public, but tentative plans have it scheduled for release during the Spring of 2015.
Koda Kumi is the first Japanese artist to utilize the innovative new technology. It is currently unclear what the music video will be like.
“Dancing In the Rain” currently has no scheduled release beyond the music video presentation at the two trade shows.
