The KRAZY Super Concert 2024 brought an unforgettable K-pop spectacle to the Long Beach Arena on September 14th and 15th. Over two jam-packed days, fans were treated to a star-studded lineup of K-pop royalty, rising stars, and energetic performances that left the crowd buzzing. With acts like aespa, ZEROBASEONE, Sunmi, Lay Zhang, AKMU, CL, BamBam, and more, the weekend showcased the genre’s massive global appeal.
Day 1: KRAZY Star Power and Playful Energy
Alaina Castillo
Castillo opened the first night, captivating the crowd with her voice. She gave fans a taste of her upcoming release Starz, while delivering a fan-favorite, Pocket Locket, from three years ago. In addition, Castillo shared how K-pop star Hanni from NewJeans had listened to her music on livestream. It became a touching moment highlighting her growing recognition in the industry.
ZEROBASEONE (ZB1)
ZEROBASEONE, one of the night’s most anticipated acts, followed with hits like Good So Bad and New Kidz on the Block. After their performances, the group joined MC Kim Jong Kook on stage for fun games and interactions. From dancing to K-pop hits like Enhypen’s Bite Me to Stray Kids’ Chk Chk Boom. The highlight of the game was the losing team’s hilarious penalty, sexy dance to “Baby Shark”. The boy group returned to perform Kill the Romeo, Feel the Pop, and their debut song In Bloom. They truly brought their youthful energy to the stage.
SUNMI
Sunmi, a veteran of the K-pop scene, delivered an exhilarating set, starting with 24 Hours and Siren. Clearly thrilled to be back in Los Angeles, she shared memories of her last visit. Playing a “balance game” with fans, Sunmi delighted with her humor and down-to-earth charm. She kept the energy high with performances of Heart Burn, Pporappippam, and her iconic Gashina, which was complete with confetti showers and bursts of smoke.
AKMU (AKDONG MUSICIAN)
AKMU made their LA debut with a live band at the KRAZY Super Concert. They kicked off with a string of hits including Hey Kid, Close Your Eyes, Dinosaur, and Fish in the Water. Sibling duo Suhyun and Chanhyuk’s chemistry shone throughout their set, with Suhyun teasing her brother while praising his skills as one of Korea’s best composers. Likewise, he praised his sister’s voice. Their set included heartfelt ballads like How Can I Love the Heartbreak before closing with fan favorites 200%, Love Lee, and Give Love, leaving fans chanting for more.
LAY ZHANG
Closing out Day 1 was Lay Zhang, who brought the crowd to their feet with his slick choreography and powerful stage presence. From Psychic and Boom to his energetic dance breaks in Namanana and Sheep, Lay proved his global superstar status. His performance featured a surprise guest appearance by Lauv, who joined him onstage for I’m So Tired. Lauv was on the original lineup before it was canceled months ago so many fans were excited to see him. Lay’s ability to fuse cultures and styles in his music truly made him a standout on Day 1.
Day 2: KRAZY Fierce Legends and Fresh Faces
Agnez Mo
Agnez Mo opened the second night with her dynamic blend of pop and R&B, performing tracks like Coke Bottle and her newest single, Party in Bali. She got the crowd on their feet with a dance break. She made sure the energy stayed high from the very start.
DK (iKON)
Next up was DK from iKON, who celebrated iKON’s 9th debut anniversary with the crowd. DK expressed his gratitude to fans and joked about missing his group members while performing solo. His set included fan favorites like Kiss Me, Bling Bling, and Rhythm Ta. Despite his playful banter with MC Jong Kook about boxing and working out together, DK’s heartfelt connection with the fans was clear throughout.
ZEROBASEONE
Zerobaseone returned for a second day, performing the same high-energy set from Day 1. They wore different outfits but kept their youthful charm and excitement fresh for the new crowd.
BamBam (GOT7)
BamBam from GOT7 took the stage next, delivering an eclectic mix of tracks from Sour & Sweet to Ribbon. His infectious personality shone through, especially during a hilarious fan interaction where someone suggested their house as a place for BamBam to chill in LA. His playful humor was balanced by his slick dance moves, making him a fan favorite.
CL (2NE1)
CL, the “baddest female” from 2NE1, closed the night with a bang. Her entrance with I Am the Best immediately set the tone for her fierce set. It included hits like Spicy, Dr. Pepper, Hello B*tches, and Lover Like Me. CL commanded the stage with charisma and power. She leaves no doubt as to why she’s considered one of K-pop’s most iconic performers.
aespa: Consistency Across Both Days
Both nights featured performances from Aespa, who brought their signature futuristic sound and sleek choreography to the stage. The group performed hits like Black Mamba, Hold on Tight, Armageddon, and Next Level on both days. Their performance was polished, and their synchronization on tracks like Illusion and Supernova showed off their prowess as one of K-pop’s rising powerhouse groups.
Final Thoughts
The KRAZY Super Concert lived up to its name. It offered a diverse mix of performances from K-pop legends, seasoned stars, and new faces. With heart-pounding choreography, playful fan interactions, and emotional moments, the concert captured everything that makes K-pop a global phenomenon. From the explosive energy of Zerobaseone and Aespa to the legendary charisma of Sunmi, Lay Zhang, CL, and more, it was a weekend to remember for fans of all ages.
