4-Member South Korean boy group, AB6IX from Brand New Music held their first-ever U.S. fanmeeting tour. The tour started in New York then made stops in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle and ended their show in the City Of Angels, Los Angeles, California.
On July 1st, 2022, ABNEW filled the LA music venue, El Rey Theatre. The venue has been around and used since 1936 and many artists have performed on that very stage. Some notable artists in the K-POP industry who have performed at the venue include James Lee (former member of Royal Pirates), Amber Liu [former member of f(x)], Kevin Woo (former member of U-KISS) as well as, Fyke.
AB6IX’s very own Donghyun, Daehwi, Woong, and Woojin performed for their LA ABNEW on a hot summer day but that didn’t stop the group or the fans from enjoying the event. Some fans arrived early for their fan engagement, including a soundcheck with the four members.
AB6IX Begin LA Fanmeeting
At approximately 7PM, the show began and they performed their English version of the fan-favorite, “Hollywood”. They also showcased their hit songs “Savior”, as well as “Close”.
The boys took the time to introduce themselves to the fans who made it out. They went one by one and told fans how happy they were to perform for them in The States.
Interacting with Fans
Throughout the fanmeeting, they interacted with their ABNEW’s, invited some fans to the stage, and of course, played games. They answered many questions that fans had written on a sticky note and stuck on a board (Q&A Session). AB6IX also looked up some fan questions via Twitter and if they were in the audience, they were invited to the stage. Daehwi is fluent in English so he was able to interact with the fans easily. They also had a translator so fans were able to talk with them despite the language barrier.
While some won T-Shirts, others were able to take Polaroid photos with all the members; a memory they will probably keep with them forever.
As the concert portion continued, they performed many of their well-known songs. Tracks like “Red Up”, “Cherry”, “Breathe” and many more had the fans cheering loudly. The group also had an outfit change towards the end. Sporting a new look, they ended their fanmeeting with “Shining Stars”.
ABNEW and AB6IX surely had fun in Los Angeles at the AB6IX 2022 Fanmeeting. It was great to see them since their 1st world tour was postponed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
