K-POP girl group, Dreamcatcher, held their LA “Reason: Makes” stop on Monday, March 21, 2023 at the Hollywood Palladium. Despite it being a Monday, the line wrapped around the venue hours before the show. Some fans let us know that they were already in line the day before. As fans with nervous energy went through security, after many removing chains, they ran to find a spot as close to the stage. Of course some also ran to the merchandise booth to find a memento to remember the night.
Venue – Hollywood Palladium
This venue is one of LA’s historic venues, built in 1940, and was originally a ballroom and then for orchestras. It was not meant for concerts due to it’s oval shape but the audience made due and spread out. Staff was great as doors opened 1.5 hours before the show start and fans were inside in a timely matter and anxiously waiting for the start of the show.
There is a good amount of parking with a range of $20-$30 in the general area.
Dreamcatcher Set the Tone
On time, Dreamcatcher appeared on stage and the show started with heavy choreography tracks “Chase Me”, and “You and I”. They then took a much needed breather to say hi to the audience and introduce themselves. Since the venue was standing room only, they made sure to mention a few safety rules first. They hoped this would make everything go smoothly before moving on to”What” and “Scream”.
They chatted a bit more with fans letting them know they’re glad to be in LA again on tour before moving on to fun songs “Diamond” and “There Was No One Left”. During these songs, they were able to run around on stage and interact with the audience. They also went with a different vibe and sang tracks “Emotion” and “Polaris” where fans waved their lightsticks.
After this set, they switched it up again to lovely and cute which led them into tracks such as “Some Love” and “Fairytale”. One of the fans made JiU a bunny hat which she gladly wore after the prompting from the other members. The members then went to mention that the day before the show, they ate at Yuppduk which Yoohyeon said the audience should definitely try.
After performing high energy track “Wind Blows”, they noticed the crowd feeling uncomfortable so asked fans to move back a few steps. To be safe, they asked the audience to put up an X if any of them felt uncomfortable. Safety first! Due to this, they took a short break to chat before going into fan favorite title tracks “Vision” and “Boca“.
Encore
The members all mention that the Hollywood Palladium in LA is the last stop on the tour and they thought it’s the perfect end. As per concert tradition, they took a group photos with fans, said their goodbyes, and told fans to get louder before performing “Silent Night”. During this song, the dance break seemed like a rave party. Dreamcatcher and audience had so much fun that they had to have that part played again a few times to make sure they got it out of their system. After a few more songs, they walked off stage before walking back to “ENCORE” cheers in tour shirts/sweaters/jerseys with “Full Moon”.
Dreamcatcher stated they’ll definitely be back again so make sure to catch them the next time they’re in a city near you!
