JYP Entertainment’s 7-member boy group, GOT7, flew over to the United States for another tour. Collaborating with SubKulture Entertainment who is responsible for bringing Block B, BTS, SHINee and GOT7 on their first U.S. tours, GOT7 was able to work with the successful company again and hold a fanmeet for their U.S. IGOT7s this time around. The boys embarked on a 5-city tour, visiting Miami (FL) first, Washington (DC), Chicago (IL), Houston (TX), and finishing off in Los Angeles (CA).
On January 29th, fans swarmed around the Pasadena Civic Auditorium to get their merchandise, banners and much more. As IGOT7s entered the venue for the final stop of the tour, everyone rushed to their seats to wait for the boys; singing along to the GOT7 tracks that were playing. As soon as their last title track, “Hard Carry”, began playing, the fans sang along loudly and a mass of green lights were seen upon the dimming of the lights. The fans were already waving their lightsticks before the 7-members were on stage.
GOT7 appear on the stage minutes later with red and black outfits. They sit on the chairs that were set up for them and begin their fanmeeting with some of their slower tracks, “Prove It” and “Let Me”. After hyping up the crowd, the members of GOT7 leave the stage and the MC’s appear. Danny (well known as the host of KCON now) and translator DK introduce the boys. They then have a Q&A session with the idols.
Jackson, Jinyoung, Mark, JB, Youngjae, Bambam and Yugyeom all sat and answered questions pre-asked by the fans. They answered questions like “what is your ideal type?” “what were your first thoughts upon meeting the members?” and many different types of questions. They were also asked what their favorite Disney movies were and Mark replied with “Dumbo” which caused one of the members to sing “Dumb” by Red Velvet. They also couldn’t have their Q&A session without Yugyeom doing his sexy dance when they asked the members what their favorite GOT7 dance was.
They performed some more songs including “Just Right” and “BoomX3” before playing the game Guess The Song. The game started with a song playing and the boys having to guess which song it was. Some of the members couldn’t figure out the tracks even though they were GOT7 songs. The members were really excited and seemed to have fun playing the game but in the end, Youngjae won with a score of 4/7. Bambam, Yugyeom and JB had to inhale helium and sing their track “Hard Carry” which had the fans roaring with laughter.
Soon enough, it was time for IGOT7’s to go up on stage. The lucky 7 girls introduced themselves and what their favorite GOT7 songs were. When it was Youngjae’s turn, his partner chose “Fly” as her favorite and he then responded with “you don’t like ‘Rewind’” which we all know is Youngjae’s favorite track. They played hacky sack and Mark’s team ended up winning.
After performing some more tracks such as “Fly,” “Hard Carry” and more, they said their thank you’s and Youngjae announced that his favorite singer is present. Elliott Yamin was in attendance watching GOT7 and Youngjae was extremely happy and full of smiles; he even sang a bit of “Wait For You” which is the song he passed the JYP Audition with. The ‘Thank You’s’ ended with Jackson saying some inspirational words, “haters will never be satisfied so live life to the fullest”.
Their encore song was “Homerun” and fans sang along to the track before the members had to really end their fanmeet but not before promising to come back with new music.
SubKulture Entertainment held another successful event in the USA. With great venue picks, awesome production and great MC choices.
They recently announced 5-member boy group, SHINee, of SM Entertainment will be coming to two cities this March. Stay tuned.
