Kang Daniel, a South Korean male artist, holds his first solo tour with his final stop in Los Angeles, California. The KONNECT Entertainment founder showcased his talents and the reason why he was voted number 1 on Produce 101 Season 2. On March 11th, 2023, he ended his tour at The Wiltern in the heart of Koreatown LA.
The Venue – The Wiltern
The venue is not a stranger to many LA K-POP fans as many artists have performed at the venue in the past. Most recently, Park Jin Young performed for his audience there. This is where he let them know how much performing at this very venue meant to him.
The parking at the venue is a structure right next to it which allows for easy parking and walking distance. Downside – it was $30(varies depending on show)! The lines outside the venue are quick once the doors open and security are efficient and friendly.
Seating is great if you sit in the front to middle or in Balcony but if you choose FLOOR 4, you can’t see…. at all. For the first time ever, our reviewer tickets were given in row T which is the back of the venue. It seemed that it would be a good view while the audience was seated, but as soon as concert began and everyone stood, the stage was completely blocked to those past the first or second row.
It wasn’t until the 4th or 5th song that we left our seats to stand in the back. Only then could we see. When staff asked us why we moved, we told them the reason and they apologized that it was very packed and allowed us to stand in the back. We noticed that almost everyone in our row left their seats. We definitely appreciate the venue ushers for being understanding.
Enough about the venue, let’s talk about Kang Daniel!
Kang Daniel Performs Fan Favorite Tracks
Daniel started his concert at exactly 8PM. It was surprising when the lights dimmed and the video began playing, indicating the concert was starting. Fans became hyped!
While we couldn’t see the first set of songs on the actual stage, we were able to hear well. He started his First Parade concert with a track he released 2 years ago, “Who U Are“. He then performed some more of his songs before ending the first set with “Waves”.
This is the last of his stops so he talked often with fans and told everyone that he was proud of himself for making it to the last stop successfully.
After speaking with fans a bit and trying to calm his breathing, he went on to perform the track “Parade”. This went well with the theme of the concert. Throughout the night, he sang various fan favorites including, “Antidote” which fans held up banners for, as well as, “Nirvana” and “Paranoia” among others.
A Simple & Quick Concert
While the concert was great because Kang Daniel is a wonderful performer, it seemed like something was missing. It could be because the concert was very simple or because it was quick. The entire event was about an hour and half but only because he had a video or something to say every 1-2 songs, it was short.
For the last few songs, he came out wearing a Lakers jersey (Lebron James of course!) because he was in LA and this caused more cheers in the audience. Due to the usual end of the concert traditions, we were a little disappointed because he didn’t wear a tour shirt of any kind.
Regardless, it was still a great concert and we can’t deny Kang Daniel’s great talents and charms when he stands on stage.
