KTOWN Night Market returned once again to Korea Town, Los Angeles, California at the Robert F. Kennedy Community School on June 17th and 18th, 2022. This year the night market was held in collaboration with K-Play! Fest who recently debuted with their first convention earlier this year. Because of their addition to the night market, more K-POP fans were attracted to the event. This worked out great since some of the performers (including the headliner) were in the K-POP scene.
The KTOWN Night Market Booths!
The night market consisted of food stalls and food trucks from Melona and Ubenabon to Yakitori Yado and Bawk Bawk Chicken. There were many food options to choose from. K-Play! Fest also brought vendors such as KPOP Station, KPOP Center, and EMLUVS. They also included fun events at the night market; Stamp Book Scavenger Hunt and PC Trading to name a few.
There was something for everyone at this event, that’s for sure! From standing in line for delicious food to decorating KPOP photocards. For those mainly there for the music, they went straight to the stage to wait for their favorite performer.
The Performances
The biggest pull to KTOWN Night Market is their live performances. This year’s first night, performers included OLMOS, Ru AREYOU, Hush Crew, Jenny Lyric, with headliners Kazi and Minzy of 2NE1.
New York-based singer, Kazi, hyped up the crowd with many of his hit songs, including his hit track, “ruin my life”.
After her appearance at Coachella this year with fellow 2NE1 members, Minzy came out to the night market to perform her songs, “NINANO” and “TEAMO”. She then surprised fans by singing 2NE1 singles, “I Don’t Care” and “Go Away” before ending her stage.
If you were able to attend the second night, there were performances by Aleyna Moon, DAN AKA DAN, FYKE, Ted Park, Benji (former member of B.I.G) and more!
