K-POP girl group, NMIXX, held their first ever showcase in Los Angeles. Their showcase tour is titled NICE TO MIXX YOU and it made stops in Seattle, San Jose, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Washington, DC, and ended in Brooklyn.
They held their LA leg of the tour on May 5th, 2023 at The Wiltern which is a venue many K-POP artists have used. Their boss, the legendary J.Y. Park, also held his concert there in February of this year.
The Venue – The Wiltern
Of course, this venue isn’t a stranger to K-POP fans. So many artists have performed at this venue in the past. Most recently, Kang Daniel and J.Y. Park.
The parking at the venue is a structure right next to it which allows for easy parking and walking distance. Downside – it was $30 (varies depending on the show)! But you can also park at the lot across the street where M-Grill is located and pay $20 like we did. The lines outside the venue are quick once the doors open and security are efficient and friendly. NMIXX lines went around the whole block.
Seating is great if you sit in the front or middle of the floor. Also the Balcony but if you choose FLOOR 4, you can’t see…. at all. For the second time this year, our reviewer tickets were given in row R which is the back of the venue. As we explained during Daniel’s concert, avoid this floor at all costs. The whole stage is blocked, simply because this venue isn’t made for standing fans.
Unlike Kang Daniel’s concert though, fans were asking those behind them if they can see and tried moving around to allow them to see better. ANSWER in LA are very friendly and know how to have fun while taking care of their fellow fans.
We don’t think it’s fair to fans to sell those seats knowing they won’t be seeing much of the stage. So we don’t recommend you buying tickets in this section.
NMIXX First Showcase – Nice To MIXX You
The ladies of NMIXX begin their showcase with a few popular songs. Their debut song “O.O” was a hit as many ANSWER (fandom name) sang along with them. They had a video playing in the background while they performed their track “Paxxword”.
They introduced themselves and we were finally able to see a bit of them on stage. Their outfits were mostly shades of pink with ripped up denim. Lily was sporting a New York crop top which was a little weird since she was in LA… but she still looked cute. Her heart pigtails were the cutest part of her outfit.
After introductions, the girls performed more of their tracks which had the fans in the venue dancing along.
Before they performed some covers, the group asked fans what their PAXXWORD was and fans joked “TT” or “JYP” which the girls laughed along to. But the password ended up being ANSWER so fans awed.
Fan Interactions
Since it was a showcase, they interacted more with fans than they would a concert. Regardless, they didn’t play any actual games like most showcases do. They taught the audience the key point dance for “Young Dumb Stupid” and after performing it, they played the copying game. They split in three groups of 2 and fans copied what the members were saying.
NMIXX Covers
After outfit changes, they were seen in white shirts and pink skirts.
It was finally time to perform their covers. They performed “TT” by Twice which is their seniors from the company. Also, “Hey Mama” which is a song originally by David Guetta featuring Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha & Afrojack.
Fan Favorite
Many may have thought that the fan favorite was their debut track but we were all proven wrong. The minute the music was on for “Dice” the fans were so loud, we can barely hear ourselves. It was absolutely amazing. This proved just how many fans were excited to see the girls in concert.
NMIXX Saying Goodbyes
Before saying goodbyes, they performed some more tracks. They said their final thoughts and told fans they’d be back and to wait for them. NMIXX also said this was a memorable moment for them as a group. They couldn’t leave the stage before performing their latest hit song, “Love Me Like this” which again had everyone on their feet and singing along.
The came back for their encore stages and instead of performing new songs, they sang their debut track once more and “Love Me Like This”. While it was a little odd to perform the same tracks twice, almost consecutively, they did it wonderfully and it didn’t stop fans from singing with them.
Overall, it was a great concert (not really a showcase) and it showcased their strong vocals and dancing abilities. NMIXX has a bright future ahead of them so watch out for their future releases.
