He explained that she passed away just last May and at that time, he canceled all his shows and lives as he couldn’t do anything. He also confessed that as his tears wouldn’t stop, he visited a doctor. At that time to help him cope with his emotions, he started composing and that song is “REQUIEM”.
Also, during the press conferenced, he announced his upcoming impressive world tour, as well as, X Japan’s long awaited comeback with “Angel”. After the press conference, YOSHIKI held a small Q&A and live performance with fans, press, and industry members. He told stories about his parents, X Japan, The Last Rockstars, and how everything came together.
He then performed for fans joined by the string quartet, Orchid Quartet. The quartet explained that their beginning is heavily influenced by YOSHIKI as they started off by performing at one of his concerts. During a few numbers, he was joined by vocalists Ashley and Beverly who he asked on the spot if they wanted to join him on his tour. He then explained to the audience that he does things last minute and on the spot.
YOSHIKI performed live teasers for the upcoming tracks “Angel” and “REQUIEM”. He also performed classical versions of X Japan’s hits “Tears”, “Miracle” and “Endless Rain”. During this event, he mentioned that he composed the song “Imitation Rain” for a new boy group in Japan, SixTONES. He performed short versions of a few more songs and made sure to explain each one to those in attendance each time. This helped the audience understand the emotions behind his song. These were just short clips of each song so fans should look forward to listening to the full version during the concert.
