While many fans attended the annual event, there are many that didn’t attend the event this year so here are 10 things you had missed at KCON 2014. Even if you did attend, there was so much to do there that you may STILL have missed some of these things.
At KCON 2014, you may have missed…
- IU’s first ever performance in Los Angeles. The young K-POP diva stole the hearts of many at her artist engagements, as well as, at Saturday nights concert. She spoke in English and interacted with the audience as she performed some of her big hits. IU is truly talented and she didn’t fail to show that on KCON 2014’s stage.
- The awesome Market that KCON had lined up this year. Koreatown’s finest, such as, Mr. Pizza, BiBiGo, Tours Le Jours and many more were present at the market alongside Soompi and other vendors selling food, beauty products and artist merchandise. Also at the market that was open to the public was the great outdoor stage that had performances by DJ Flash Finger, Jun Sung Ahn, AJ Rafael, Jhameel and many more local artists.
- Fansites! There were so many fansites present for JYP Nation artists, EXO, Super Junior, CN Blue, U-Kiss, SNSD, SISTAR, BTS and many more who sold merchandise that will probably only be seen at KCON in support of their favorite idols and even did awesome giveaways.
- Danny From LA, LIVE. The filming took place during both days of the convention for everyone to watch! Artists like BTS, VIXX and more recorded the show with Danny and Parker (Dumbfoundead.)
- Red Carpet! Many fans had the opportunity to watch their favorite artists walk the red carpet which was brought to KCON by VIKI and hosted by Eric Nam. HypnoticAsia was able to cover Lee Seung Gi, Lee So Jin, SNSD, CN BLUE, BTS, SPICA and Jung Joon Young on day 2 of the convention and pictures can be found on FaceBook HERE.
- Viki’s booth with special SELCA time with Eric Nam! Many fans who got their picture taken with the singer left with smiles on their faces.
- Artist engagements. The many artist engagements with the special guests and performers made it possible for some fans to hi-five their favorite artists, get autographs, or just watch them do their thing.
- Back to back concerts! The 2 day concert featured an amazing lineup of: IU, G-Dragon, SNSD, Spica, BTS, B1A4, VIXX, Jung Joon Young, CN BLUE, and Teen Top. Also opening the concerts were guests: Jun Sung Ahn, Jeremy Thurber, Jhameel and Dancing 9.
- SPICA US debut. Spica performing their awesome U.S. debut single “I Did It” at the concert on Sunday.
- K-POP Convention. Panels, workshops and more that were offered to fans who attended the two day convention. Everything from drama panels to Asian-American artist panels. As well as, Running Man workshops where fans played games seen on the show to Dance workshops, where you can learn how to dance by some awesome choreographers. Where else can we attend a panel or workshop and find a surprise guest appearance by Yoo In Na, Rainbow’s Jaekyung or Lee Seung Gi?
One thing we know we missed and many others was actor Kim Ji Suk, and singer come actress Nam Gyuri, who made a surprise appearance at the red carpet on Saturday. KCON hadn’t announced the two special guests so many didn’t even know they were at the large convention both days until photos surfaced the internet days later. We bet it must have been a surprise for many who did run into them!
Hope you don’t plan on missing next years KCON! Any guesses of what they’ll have in store for us next year?
