After years of nonstop hard work, the boys of U-KISS are headliners for their very first U.S. tour. After having successful shows in New York and San Francisco, U-KISS puts on an amazing performance for the last leg of their tour in Los Angeles at Club Nokia on Tuesday, January 14th, 2014.
U-KISS performed their hit songs including, “Stop Girl,” “Bingeul Bingeul,” “She’s Mine,” “Dora Dora,” “Standing Still,” and “Someday.” After performing the said songs, behind the scenes clips of U-KISS were played which featured the members sightseeing adventure in New York and San Francisco.
U-KISS subunit group, U-BEAT, which consists of AJ, Kevin, and Eli, quickly appeared on the stage to perform their title track, “Should’ve Treated You Better.” Following U-BEAT was Soohyun and Hoon’s performance. The duo perform a melodic ballad track, “More Painful Than Pain.” AJ returned to the stage accompanying Kiseop to perform “Obsession.” After the special stages, all six members returned to the stage to begin the next segment. It hasn’t been officially announced but UKISS hinted that another subunit group is currently in progress of debut, possibly a ballad subunit group.
The group was provided a large board covered with questions and requests handwritten from fans. Each member was expected to pick one and answer. The questions picked included song requests by specific members and dance performances. This segment included the most fan service and adlibs which fans enjoyed very much and wanted the boys to pick more than just the required six.
Following the Q&A session was the performances of their Japanese singles, “Tick Tock” and “Forbidden Love.”
M-net America held a contest searching for the U-KISS super fan. The contest was to find a truly deserving fan who dedicated so much to U-KISS. The L.A. recipient, who called herself a U-KISS supermom, awarded U-KISS an honorary award on stage. She also read a heartfelt letter that sent the members and audience to tears. The members gave her endless hugs while dedicating “Mysterious Lady” to her.
U-KISS then performed “0330” and then sang “Happy Birthday” to Kiseop, whose birthday was in a few days. He was presented a surprise cake from the fans. The concert was nearing to an end as the group performs their last two songs, “Believe” and “Neverland.”
The concert is truly never over until there is an encore stage. U-KISS performed “Without You” and “Man Man Ha Ni” before leaving the fans with such a memorable experience.
There were many fans in attendance, considering the concert was on a Tuesday evening; however, the sound system was quite off as there was simply too much bass that the audio was not of high quality. The concert was relatively short and they could have performed more songs, but the songs they did perform was expectedly perfect. Nonetheless the concert was a rewarding and an amazing event. U-KISS gave so much fan service no matter what they were doing—whether they were singing, speaking, or just standing still (pun unintended)—they showed fans love.
