Sam Kim from Seattle vs. Atlanta’s Bernard Park this weekend!
The finalists of SBS’s idol audition show, “K-Pop Star 3,” are two Korean Americans.
Sam Kim, 16, and Bernard Park, 22, have both topped search engines in Korea with their appearances on the show.
Kim, a high school student from Seattle, has been hailed as a “genius guitarist.” He took first place in Sunday’s round after performing Park Jin-young’s “Honey,” which brought in 298 total points from the three judges.
A Washington state resident, Kim won a ticket to Korea during the preliminary auditions held in Los Angeles last fall.
Park, on the other hand, holds the highest score on record, at 299. He earned it after his take on Richard Marx’s “Right Here Waiting” during the Top 3 round.
He’s currently a student at Georgia Gwinnett College and has been active in his local church as the leader of a youth praise band. Park also participated in the 2012 Kollaboration Atlanta.
Their final round will air April 13.
