On a cold rainy day in LA, fans lined up at The Belasco awaiting doors to open. Which artist could make these fans stand in line for hours in the cold rain? Known for his eclectic mix of musical talents, Vicke Blanka was set to headline his first-ever North American tour!
On February 6th, 2024 Vicke Blanka held his fourth North American stop of his tour in LA. With drinks in hand and excitement in the air, attendees eagerly awaited the start of the show, unsure of what to expect but ready for anything. As the lights dimmed and the venue fell silent, the unmistakable sound of Vicke Blanka’s music filled the air, signaling the start of an unforgettable evening. Dressed in all white, Vicke Blanka took to the stage, immediately captivating the audience with his infectious energy and undeniable talent.
The Concert Begins!
From the opening notes of “Soten No Vampire” to “Shekebon!” and then the beautiful melody of “Slave of Love”. While performing “Want You Back,” Vickeblanka showcased himself as an artist, transitioning between genres and instruments with ease. Whether he was strumming his guitar or playing the piano, his passion for music shone through in every performance, leaving the audience in awe of his talent. He mentioned to the audience that playing in LA is a dream come true as he was only able to wish it when he was a student.
Throughout the night, Vicke Blanka delighted fans with a mix of new and old favorites, including “Black Rover,” “Sad in Saudia Arabia,” and “Snake.” Each song was met with cheers and applause, as the audience sang along and danced to the infectious beats. He showed off his piano skills while performing the ‘Flavors of Youth’ OST, “WALK”. During this song, we were able to sense the vibe of the crowd calming down with this emotional ballad. As he started playing the first keys to the next song, the crowd let out a collective gasp which caused him to pause and look out before continuing to play “Lucky Ending”.
Crowd Interactions
But it wasn’t just Vicke Blanka’s musical prowess that captivated the crowd—it was also his charming personality and infectious enthusiasm. Despite a few mishaps, such as a sinking microphone stand and a brief confusion about stage directions, Vicke Blanka kept the audience entertained with his playful banter and genuine interactions.
But perhaps the most memorable moment of the night came towards the end of the show, when Vicke Blanka surprised the crowd with a promise to return to Los Angeles. With heartfelt sincerity, he vowed to come back stronger than ever, leaving the audience feeling both touched and exhilarated by his commitment to his fans. He also mentioned that he has a second YouTube channel vickeplays where he plays games. He’s going to start talking in English on that channel so he can practice and get better; even while playing Fortnite. It’s very important that fans who want to support him can interact with him there so that he can keep practicing his English.
Encore
Missing his timing to run off stage and say “goodbye”, he jokingly told the audience to make sure they encore so he can come back out. When he did, he asked the crowd to go ahead and name songs they want to hear. He performed the chorus of “I Like You” before someone yelled out “Stray Cat” and he exclaimed that he forgot to perform it! As the final notes of “Stray Cat” echoed through the venue, Vicke Blanka bid farewell to his adoring fans, promising to return soon. And with that, the night came to a close, leaving the audience buzzing with excitement and anticipation for Vicke Blanka’s next North American tour stop.
Fun fact: if you catch one of his shows in Japan, he has a full band. However, for this tour, you’ll see him playing all of his own instruments and running around the stage. This isn’t his last stop of the tour! For any of you that are near his other stops, make sure you don’t miss out.
