Vicki Lovelee is back with a new single, this time entitled “Crossed Off”.
Chinese Canadian alt-pop singer from Ontario, Canada, Vicki Lovelee makes a return with a new single. Lovelee states that, “[t]his song is dedicated to anyone who doesn’t feel accepted and wants to find a place to belong.”
The singer also mentions, “[w]hen you stay true to who you are, you fear that people won’t accept you anymore. I want this song to be a safe space where you can belong without judgement.” She through the lyrics, she is able to portray just that. Alongside the new track which is released on all streaming platforms, she released a lyric video through her official YouTube channel.
She explains how the new track could have multiple meanings. Lovelee reveals,
The title “Crossed Off” could have 2 meanings; one referring to being crossed off a list and another referring to religion, to symbolize the cross. Religion inspired some elements of the song, like in the very beginning you hear church bells that rings loud and clear.
