On the night of November 30th, 2023, the multi-talented artist WOODZ held an exciting concert at the Long Beach Terrace Theater. With a set-list that covered his vast discography, the K-pop phenomenon captivated the crowd and gave everyone in attendance a concert they would never forget. It took a while but USA was ready for the start of 2023 WOODZ World Tour ‘OO-LI and’ in LA.
A great start to the event was made by WOODZ, who sang favorites including “BUSTED,” “HIJACK,” and “LOVE ME HARDER.” The excitement of the crowd was evident right away, showing everyone that the evening was definitely going to be exciting.
During the MENT, WOODZ took a minute to introduce himself and express his appreciation for everyone that came. He moved seamlessly into popular favorites like “WAITING” and “CHASER,” displaying his vocal skills and stage presence, as the audience cheered. One thing we noticed right away was that the crowd appreciated the live vocals from WOODZ and the live band.
WOODZ Interacts with Long Beach
During the set, WOODZ engaged with his fans, sharing anecdotes and creating a lively atmosphere. One particularly memorable instance was when WOODZ saw a UNIQ “EOEO” album held up by a fan, which he kindly autographed on stage. For many who may not know, WOODZ debuted as part of a KPOP boy group called UNIQ. He later participated in Produce X 101 and made it to the super group X1 before going solo. WOODZ showed his affection for the fans all evening by reading birthday greetings and even sang Happy Birthday. Additionally, he showcased his musical range by performing brief snippets from songs like “Waikiki” and Bruno Mars’ “Runaway”.
The Night Continues
As a special gift for the audience, WOODZ decided to add his song “Multiply” to the set-list. Fans were definitely excited and sang along. This was encouraged by the lyrics on the screen behind him. They were especially loud during the lyrics “L.A., where you be at? Night time in Korea, But you brighten up my sky”. He then went into the performance of “Abyss” before the band got their own live session solo.
As the evening grew, WOODZ changed into more rockish attire before belting out “DEEP DEEP SLEEP” and “KISS OF FIRE.” As WOODZ thanked his crew, business, band, and most importantly, the fans who had supported him along the way. For those that have been fans for a while, the first chords of “Different” struck at the right moment. The audience took on a second wave of energy and vibed with the song. Exciting news were revealed when he mentions he will be releasing two new songs the next month. That was definitely a way to raise everyone’s excitement. After interacting with the audience throughout the passionate performance of “DROWNING,” WOODZ gave a longer version of the song before moving into “Journey”.
ENCORE
The show concluded with amazing performances. Changing into a tour-shirt, WOODZ took the crowd on a thrilling rollercoaster with favorites like “I HATE YOU” and “BUMP BUMP.” A personal touch was given when WOODZ had a banner signed by all those there placed around him for the group picture.
He showcased his playful side by attempting to figure out the name of Snoopy’s friend after receiving a Woodstock keychain from a fan, leading to a humorous interaction with the crowd. The final performance, “Ready to Fight,” which featured WOODZ ripping off his shirt and throwing it into the audience, was the night’s high point, leaving spectators speechless. With a VCR playing the moving song “THANKS TO,” the concert came to a close.
